would it have been so hard to phase in the daca reversal?

i mean, keep the indefinitely deferred action in place for the people currently protected under daca, and only implement the "tough border" "rule of law" crap for people who come to this country after today?

they'd get all the bigoted talking points and campaign promises kept and blah, blah, blah, without turning it into a cruel bait-and-switch gotcha program that forever undermines any trust in government people (especially immigrants, but not at all only immigrants) may have had?

i know, i know, their base needs to see some immigrants royally screwed, it's not about just calmly "securing the borders"....
