The GOP has advocated that government is the problem for 35+ years & people still vote for them. Maybe we're not bright enough for a representative democracy.

is what I'm thinking.

We get the government we deserve. Except for intrusions from foreign hostile nations.

we just allowed the Republicans to win with a minority of the vote.
Between voter suppression, gerrymandering and small State advantage in the Senate, the GOP has taken over with minority support.

Won't even bother to talk about the Presidency.

A true opposition party would have kept their eye on the ball & not let a majority of state houses go red. We lost the House for a decade with the last census & we will probably loose it for another decade after the next one, since disenfranchisement is only going to get worse the next 2-4 years. I know democrats don't want to admit to any blame in this clusterfuck, but they do have some.

The Dems needed to vilify the GOP after the mess they made in the Bush years. Instead they were all about working together while the GOP used the anger out there to consolidate power.

And they don't do much when the GOP breaks the rules. Reagan, elections 2000/04/16, Bush/Cheney, McConnell/SCOTUS, & the Con. Our government has been taken over by a pack of heartless greedy fucks who believe that playing by the rules is for losers. I've had low level depression since November.
