(61,694 posts)It isn't satire or anything? I don't want to have to take it back.
This is the part where DeSantis tries to walk away nonchalantly, hands in his pockets, whistling tunelessly.

I find no confirmation that there is any official investigation. Looks to be a journalistic investigation (maybe) by Dworkin's group.

(22,669 posts)I've seen his comments to be reliable. Haven't seen anything as of yet to support what he says on this one though. Could be coming?

The posted story does not support the headline. I don't know why people insist on making these things about personalities.

As you can see I posted what he wrote verbatim, but edited due to it's length as it would not fit otherwise. And as I said before, he appears to be a reliable source. In fact, he says he has another lead to come out tomorrow.

So let's see if that pans out by noon DC time 08/30/17. If it doesn't I'll be twice shy about posting his Twitter leads. If it does, then it would seem he's at least somewhat reliable in what he posts about.

I don't see any indication that he's being investigated for his push to end the Mueller investigation.

Today's Daily Action is to protect Bob Mueller's investigation by calling the House Rules Committee at (844) 241-1141. U.S. Representative Ron DeSantis of Florida has sponsored a budget amendment that prematurely ends the Special Counsel investigation after 6 months (by cutting off its funding) and prevents the investigation of any crimes committed before the official start of Trump's Presidential Campaign in June 2015.
DeSantis has been an eager defender of Trump on all things Russia-related. Earlier this month, when Trump bizarrely thanked Vladimir Putin for imposing sanctions on the US, DeSantis was on MSNBC within 24 hours, defending Trump (no other congressmen were). Back in July, when Donald Trump Jr leaked his own emails regarding a Trump Tower meeting with the Russians, DeSantis went on Fox News and questioned whether these details actually warranted FBI investigation claiming that it "looked more like the Keystone Cops than the KGB."
DeSantis' Amendment is an outrageous attempt to undermine law and order - in the hopes that between Harvey and the Labor Day holiday, too few people will be paying attention. Earlier this year, the Daily Action community made over 70,000 calls demanding a Special Counsel or Independent Commission -- don't let that effort be in vain.
** For this Action, you'll be connected directly to your Representative *only if they happen to sit on the Rules Committee. Otherwise, you'll be connected to a member of the Rules Committee who isn't your Representative. Even though they don't represent you locally, their COMMITTEE work is on behalf of the NATION not their DISTRICT. So when you are connected, just make it clear that you're calling them because they sit on the Rules Committee.

(37,648 posts)I didn't see anything in the article about DeSantis being investigated, though.
DeSantis has put forward a provision that would halt funding for Muellers probe six months after the amendments passage. It also would prohibit Mueller from investigating matters that occurred before June 2015, when Trump launched his presidential campaign.
The amendment is one of hundreds filed to a government spending package the House is expected to consider when it returns next week from the August recess. The provision is not guaranteed a vote on the House floor; the House Rules Committee has wide leeway to discard amendments it considers out of order.
In a statement, DeSantis said the order appointing Mueller as special counsel "didn't identify a crime to be investigated and practically invites a fishing expedition."
So...Trump found a lackie loyalist to try to kill the investigation. And they particularly don't want anything before June 2015 looked into. Might as well have an arrow pointing to pre-June 2015 as "that's when I did the big illegal acts."
This had to involve secret meetings at night, lots of research, to come up with some way to get rid of the investigation w/o actually firing Mueller, since Trump has been prevented from outright firing Mueller w/o Senate confirmation.
