Nearly 30 million Americans think its okay to have neo-Nazi views
A frightening new poll has found that 9 percent of Americans believe it’s “acceptable” to hold white supremacists or neo-Nazi views — the equivalent of nearly 30 million people.
The survey, which was conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News, showed that of those 9 percent, a third “strongly agreed” with the statement, “Do you think it’s acceptable or unacceptable to hold neo-Nazi or white supremacist views?” Overall, 10 percent of respondents described themselves as supporters of the “alt-right” movement, an attempted rebranding of the white supremacist movement, while 41 percent said they had no opinion on the matter. The survey found that 42 percent thought that Trump had put white supremacists and neo-Nazis “on equal standing with those who opposed them”. The poll, which was conducted in the wake of the protests in Charlottesville, also showed that 56 percent of respondents disapproved of Trump’s response to the violence that took place that weekend, while 28 percent approved. https://thinkprogress.org/nearly-30-million-americans-think-its-okay-to-have-neo-nazi-views-4ff429b67b0c/

3. I don't understand the question either
Is "acceptable" that other people think bad thoughts? Acting on them is something else. But what to do with people who think bad things? |

5. It's just the way that Trumpy likes it. And the way that Putin likes it.
Social instability in western democracies is a long-stated goal of Russia and Putin. And Trumpy eagerly agrees.
Trumpy and his band of criminals make up a wholly owned branch of the Russian intelligence service. The GOP and half the nation got conned and bullied. Even now, the GOP leadership are still laying down for Trumpy. They must believe that their superior lying machines (RW media and social media on the internet) can create their own realities on a moment's notice and negate any murdering and personal destruction of enemies that continues on a daily basis. They might be right. There's too much money to be made when it's daily crisis time, when Trumpy dominates the daily news cycle for the past two years. Everybody in the media business makes windfall profits while the Constitution gets destroyed. |

8. No. The GOP created the conditions for Trump and Putin
Fox and Limbaugh and GOP politicians from Reagan to GW Bush laid the divisive, hatemongering groundwork for Trump and Putin.
Putin's disinformation only works in countries where the citizens are already divided and angry. |

7. Because Fox and Limbaugh say it's ok
Propaganda works.
The GOP and their media have been dogwhistling racism for four decades, since LBJ and the Democratic party embraced civil rights and kicked out the racists -- who moved to the GOP. Until we stop the Fox and Limbaugh propaganda we will never make a dent on hate in America. |
