Petition to allow ex-felons to vote in Florida instead of having a lifetime ban. Could turn FL blue.

Surprise, surprise but Florida is one of three states that bans felons from voting for their entire lifetime. Many of these people probably have a drug charge and may have turned their lives around. You are able to go waaay up North to Tallahassee and go in front of the governor (Rick Scott) to try to get your voting rights back, but people are always turned down. As a result, huge number of minorities cannot vote. Basically, this number has been large enough to allow Republicans to "win" the presidency for Trump and Bush. Al Gore would have been president if not for this....

Here's a petition for folks to sign if you live in Florida or have friends on Facebook who are or to donate:

Yikes. That's not very encouraging. Although 7 states stopped this policy a while back. Gov. Crist kerry-is-my-prez Aug 2017 #9

Zero crimes are deterred or prevented by disenfranchising Americans.

"Oh, I won't commit that felony, I want to make sure I can vote for city treasurer next election" said no one ever.

Nor will it rehabilitate any one.

The *only* reason for taking away someone's right to vote is because some politicians want to choose the electorate rather than letting the electorate choose them.

In short, it is *always* an act of corruption.

Perhaps infinite disenfranchisement is more obviously odious, but there is absolutely no merit even to finite disenfranchisement.
