1. I am not overly fond of him but THIS

statement was excellent. I did not hear all of it but what I did hear sounded just right.

8. McAuliffe has been an excellent governor IMHO.

He's taken on the RW legislature many times.

10. He's done a lot of work on restoration of voting rights

I think that we can find a lot to like in many of the Democrats that we don't agree with on every single issue.

2. I heard that. It could have been even better had people like MLK been included.

4. I could hear how shaken he was by the sound or his voice. The fake prez was monotone.

What a surprise.

6. That's what we need from the top. It's not there.

We have to succeed in spite of the usurper.

9. I think the "go home" comment referred specifically to Charlottesville

It's my understanding that they were not all from Charlottesville, and that's what he meant.

The "America" comment was probably made with the broad brush as well.

I don't think he was telling them to get out of America.

11. Yes, he'd said before most of them are from out of state. But it doesn't sound good, IMO.

When I first read the statement, I thought it was a statement from one of the alt-right Nazi protest leaders.

But McAuliffe has had a stressful day, so if he doesn't choose the best words, it can be forgiven. The meaning still comes through.

14. The grim silver lining of today...

Within 24 hours, the nation went from "Well, free speech..." to "Yeah, fuck white supremacist nazis..."

15. Not totally.

I've been tangling with the RWNJ's for a couple hours now on a board whose name shall go unmentioned. The base is still emboldened.

17. Yes, I'm sure...

I haven't searched very far out of my safe social communities.

But, it's nice to hear people come out very clearly against them. The "pros" seem to be weak "well...there was violence on both sides...makeshift flamethrower...blahblahblah.

That flamethrower pic is fucking awesome.

I personally have no problem taking "rights" away from neo nazi/white supremacist groups nor people who defend themselves against them.

16. Confirmation that our governor sees these Nazis

As being outsiders here in Virginia. At least they certainly do not belong in Charlottesville.

20. Say your name

I would have had a t-shirt that says, "SAY YOUR NAME"

Obviously to them that would be NAZI.

Or if t-rump saw it he would say "the Real Donald J Trump, Furor"

22. The two "Patriots" McCauliffe referenced were Washington & Jefferson. Just two..

..of some previous POTUS who owned slaves. Jefferson had children by a slave not much older than a child herself. Washington was known for having false teeth made from wood. Actually, he owned a set of false teeth made from the the teeth of living slaves. Our nation needs to tell the truth about our history. Not sugarcoat it to the point anyone would celebrate the racism held by many of our "founding fathers".

Also, I'm certain most of the Trump base who rioted in Virginia, were from Virginia.
