but it hasn't been listed on my cable guide for the last 3 weeks. I thought he'd gone on summer hiatus. That's so strange. I wonder why that is.

Thank you for letting me know. I actually asked about it in another thread but got no response. That was nice of you.

Al Gore was one of the most forward thinking politicians of this era. He recognized climate change as an issue long before others in Washington, and despite the stupid internet jokes about him "inventing the Internet" (which is one of my biggest political pet peeves), everything he claimed about advocating for funding of the DARPA project that ultimately led to the Internet was 100% accurate.

And then assholes like Karl Rove came along and convinced people that he was a know-it-all, and a gullible media just ran with it.

6. I have never understood the media's overt contempt for Al Gore.

In 2000 every story on him was full of snarkiness. Maybe someone can pinpoint something he said or did to engender this behavior.

9. Tweety was *atrocious* on GORE every damned day of Coup-2000. I will never forgive him completely

Won't forgive him completely for multiple reasons besides Coup-2000:

* His RAYGUN worship;

* His behavior during the CLINTON impeachment;

* His full support for the Iraq Attack, with the footnote of helping to get DONAHUE fired at that time;

* His Shrub and McCAIN love.

He turned around with OBAMA, but how much just because he worships "winning"?

I'll never forgive him *completely*.

Al Gore ... sigh. Imagine where we'd be
if the Dems had any spine in 2000.

Tom Delay and his thugs sure did, though.

I saw him a few weeks ago and it would not be difficult to get into another public appearance. His focus is climate not government.

But I think he's happy where he is. I don't see him returning to electoral politics.

"populist" thread we see today.

Once upon a time America was proud of its educated, healthy, informed, smart masses.
