Trump and the Christian Fascists
by Chris Hedges on Truthdig 7/23/17
"If the alliance between these zealots and the government succeeds, it will snuff out the last vestiges of American democracy..." Breathe deeply, and get a grip before reading: http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/trump_and_the_christian_fascists_20170723 ![]()

2. Racist Reagan and his Neshoba County Fair
Reagan started this American decline: giveaways to billionaires, false trickle down, racist politics, and treason colluding with Iran to influence our election.
Get his name off of federal buildings and airports. Reagan started American decline. Wish we had another four years of Jimmy Carter. |

5. Good for you. Thanks!
Wish the Iranians hadn't supported Reagan, we might not be here today.

8. Too young to vote for Carter
But my family campaigned for him and we made a pilgrimage to Plains in 1977.
[link:https://www.flickr.com/photos/liveinreality/5549255519/in/dateposted/|] That's me in the blue windbreaker with my brother. |

7. I actually think Nixon started it.
Nixon went to a racist town in Mississippi during the height of angst over rights for Blacks and spoke to a massive rally of all Whites.

12. White House & Cabinet Bible study classes
http://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2017/july/bible-studies-at-the-white-house-whos-at-the-heart-of-this-spiritual-awakening ...He's started Bible studies in 40 state capitols, a number of foreign capitols, teaches weekly studies in the U.S. House and Senate and now leads about a dozen members of President Trump's Cabinet in weekly studies of the scriptures. Health Secretary Tom Price, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Agriculture Secretary Sunny Perdue, and CIA Director Mike Pompeo are just a few of the regulars. President Trump is invited to attend the Bible studies, too. Each week he receives a copy of Drollinger's teaching. And Vice President Pence is also planning to join the study as his schedule permits. He also serves as a sponsor. http://articles.latimes.com/2004/may/21/local/me-pastor21 Like a few weeks ago, when he wrote in a Bible lesson that women lawmakers with young children at home are sinners. "It is one thing for a mother to work out of her home while her children are in school," wrote Drollinger, president of a national Christian evangelical group known as Capitol Ministries and a former UCLA basketball player. "It is quite another matter to have children in the home and live away in Sacramento for four days a week. Whereas the former could be in keeping with the spirit of Proverbs 31, the latter is sinful." There's a long DU disucussion thread on this. Will seek out the link: |
