"I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat." --- Will Rogers
Throughout this whole disaster of a Presidency, Chuck Schumer has managed to keep all 46 Dems and 2 Indies in complete unity.
Keeping a group of individuals that range from Bernie Sanders to Joe Manchin in lockstep is no small feat.
Chuck Schumer is an excellent leader.

(58,724 posts)Pretty impressive that he kept the Democrats (+2 Independents) together on this.

(39,312 posts)and his words were pretty perfect, not sarcastic, even as I'm sure he enjoyed seeing McConnell melt down ridiculously last night.

(12,448 posts)I know this is hard to believe, but not everything is about Bernie Sanders. He's irrelevant.
Trial_By_Fire
(624 posts)And, 'irrelevant'? Without his vote, the ACA would be repealed...
You may want to rethink your thoughts on this...

(12,448 posts)Everything has to be about St. Bernie. We're not allowed to compliment good DEMOCRATS because Bernie and the bros might be sad.

(11,949 posts)Rather him voting with us 75% of the time rather than a real GOP member voting with us 0%.

Lots of people here do not agree. They had rather be uncompromising and lose rather pragmatic and win.

(58,785 posts)In Will Rogers' day, Dems included Southern conservatives, extreme right wing compared to other conservatives. The Republican Party was far more moderate without them than today, so that Dems and Reps would often join together, working across the aisle, to block the far right split between both our parties.
A long way of saying, don't believe the press on this. They need controversy, strife, and trend conservative/business-oriented themselves, notably the MSM.
These days it's the pubs who are torn apart now that conservative extremists are concentrated there, and conservative extremist billionaires are funding their campaigns.

(1,814 posts)I just sent him a thank you email.
I send so many emails to my Rep. Stefanik, that I don't thank Senators Shumer and Gilliland enough.
Took care of that this am.
Thanks for reminding us.
So easy to send an email when you are angry about something, easy to forget to support those fighting FOR us.

(4,291 posts)First, that he represents you, and secondly that you're supporting him.
As I read the OP, the thought crossed my mind that Cheetolini and his RepubliCONs will be targeting Sen. Schumer when he runs for re-election. And they are going to go as dark and dirty as they can.
