They had 8 years - 8 fucking years - to come up with a replacement for
the ACA. They did not do it and still cannot do it. They are manifestly unfit to govern.

6. their plan was always to repeal the taxes on the rich and hang to poor out to die.
when the aca passed in the first place, they complained that it would create a big new federal program with a big new constituency and be hard to repeal later.
they were actually right about something for a change, but they made it sound like having a big constituency of well-served americans is a bad thing.... |

9. More to the point-what they've tried to pass isn't a replacement
It's basically a partial repeal which creates more problems and solves none of the ACA's existing problems. It's exactly how not to do government.

14. There is an obvious reason they could not come up with anything to replace ACA
It was THEIR FIN HEALTH CARE REFORM.
That this country indulged their lunacy in whipping their zombies into a frenzy over how horrible it was is example #1,000 of flat out stupid this country is. |

16. Yup
I was just about to post something similar.
This was their plan for the most part. Obama and company made it better so that it would cover more people, but by in large this was the GOP plan conceptually. Obamacare is a market based solution, what the Reps hated about it was the Medicaid expansion. |

and after telling us that they knew better than the democrats for a quarter of a century..they still have no ideas.

19. Since 2011
Republicans have voted 8 times to repeal the ACA in entirety. 54 times they voted to defund or delaying certain aspects of it. Knowing full well that Obama would veto it.
Now that they have all 3 houses of government, a repeal only bill would be signed by the acting president, they can't get the 50 votes needed. When their vote was for show everyone was all in. Now that it actually means something the can't get the votes. |

20. Here's a secret.....
.... some of them KNOW that we need major health care reform. The "repeal and replace" mantra was an act for the rubes for them. The mushy middle of the GrOPers have no idea what they want. They are driven by emotion, not policy. Telling people they can have better at lower cost while eliminating protections and fracturing markets is insane. It is a lie and always was.

24. They don't give a fuck about replacing the ACA.
The reason they're doing it is out of pure spite for liberal ideals because they don't have anything that works. The democrats are Stark Industries,, the republicans are Hammer Tech.

And they aren't interested in governing...they want to rule over us, in much the same way that Putin rules over Russia!!!
The Republicans want to be oligarchs and want to do away with all the trappings of a Democratic Republic, to include the US Constitution!!! |

27. Whaddya mean replacement? They just wanted to give that black guy a bloody nose
by repealing the best part of his legacy. These are very primitive people, acting on primitive impulses. They lack the capacity to plan, to test, to evaluate, and to implement---in other words, to govern.
The problem is that so many people in this country have been propagandized into being simpletons and spiteful fuckheads just like them. They won't notice there is no plan and no alternative until all the hospitals in their area shut down. And they will. And they won't get them back. |
