1. A little history lesson for everyone...

March 1994: The British Broadcasting Corporation and Orbit Communications Company (a Saudi Royal Family owned company) launched BBC Arabic TV.
April 1996: BBC airs programming critical of the Saudi's. BBC Arabic TV promptly gets yanked.
November 1996: Al Jazeera starts broadcasting, staffed by many ex-BBC Arabic TV people.

I don't think Qatar will kill off AJ just to appease the Saudis. However if it does, I hope the spirit of AJ lives on. I think it will.
