If we are going to have a 50 state strategy, there are going to be losses. Focus on the big picture.

Kansas, Montana, Georgia, and South Carolina. All DEEP RED districts. But we fought. We contested. Of course it was going to be VERY hard to win these. But we did our job. This is the 50 state strategy. We were very competitive in all of them. We shifted the vote substantially. We over-performed. We made them fight for it and spend lots of money on these.

Everyone wants the 50 state strategy, right? Well, this is it. It is very hard to win these, but we should definitely be fighting for them. It bodes very well in the big picture.

2. Agreed. But we ALL have to be out there in 2017 (today) as well. . .

. . .and campaign for and vote for LOCAL candidates. These folks are often the bench from which we get the House/Senate/Governor candidates of the future.

12. Absolutely. We have seen real momentum on our side in VERY Republican districts. It is GOOD news.

3. If we want to take back the house

This is exactly the district type we need to win. I live here, and the people are highly educated, employed, and many are skeptical about Trump.

We're not going to win many rural districts, so we have to capitalize on these suburban districts.

9. And another shift of 2.5 points would have done it. Damn close for a deep red district.

14. The state may be deep red, but this district is not.

I'm trying real hard to avoid saying we're doomed, but these types of races are exactly the ones we need to win en made to take the house.

And getting within 4% is not winning, and it's not as close as I expected even if we lost. And I live and voted in GA district 6.

20. It IS deep red. Won BIG by the R's for FOUR decades, some years with NO Dem even daring to run.

21. " but this district is not."

Can you list the outcomes of the last forty years of GA 6 Federal Hose races to back up your claim?

4. Also there is an important SCOTUS case ...it is about gerrymandering. It contains a method for

determining a gerrymander. Kennedy has said that if there is a method for identifying Gerrymanders, he will vote against them...fingers crossed!

7. Yes, there will be losses

but will there be wins?

At this point, if it isn't in a bright blue state, the answer appears to be "no".

And now the "centrist" Dems in congress are signing on to the Ryan/McConnell agenda with regard to taxes.

10. You are wrong. Again, these were DEEP RED districts. SOLID DOUBLE DIGIT REPUBLICAN, and NOT purple.

Make no mistake, behind closed doors Republicans are shitting their pants in truly purple districts and districts where moderate Republicans won but Clinton also won significantly.

15. It is still really hard

to see this. Add to that, the Blue Dogs coming to heel about tax "reform" and it looks like the end of the decent parts of our society.

11. Thanks. We must compete EVERYWHERE even in hard places and even if we lose. We need to put them on

defense EVERYWHERE. We have out-performed BIGTIME and they have under-performed BIGTIME. This is real momentum. It is the 50 state strategy that everyone wants in full bore action. KEEP IT UP. 2018 is coming.

13. Totally. And we also have to remember

that Repukes fought and lost for years in places no one thought they had any business winning, like WI and MI. And then they started to win in those places.

16. We were competitive in all of them

THat is what is important.

In this respect, Trump is better than Obama. He picked his cabinet members from safer districts than Obama did.
