Tammy Duckworth on MSNBC: "I don't think we can do much to stop it" (TrumpCare)

She was asked what would happen if it goes to Trump's desk for signature.

She said all that Democrats could do would be to make the public aware of what had been done to them.

We knew this anyway, it's just that hearing it out loud is another matter.

Everyone's always saying the Democrats have no back bench. This woman is amazing and she would appeal to a whole lot of disparate groups.

Not that Republicans wouldn't try to disrespect her, but it would take more than "BUT HER SHEMAILS!" or "Obummer!" to pull the public alone.

The woman walks on prosthetic legs because she gave up her real ones in Iraq in a war she should've never had to fight. No one could accuse her of being weak on foreign policy, nor could anyone accuse her of being a hawk thoughtlessly ready to send young men and women off to die needlessly.

And no one could get away with saying she wasn't a real American, or that she didn't love her country, or that she put American lives in danger.

And no one could call her entitled or say she didn't fight like hell to get where she is.

I'm sure some right wingers would attack her anyway, just as I'm sure some leftists would call her an evil establishment neoliberal b***. But I'm not worried about those people.

If she's willing to RUN in 2020, we'd be fools to turn her down.

they have been astonishingly vicious about it - I'm thinking about Max Cleland - but I think she would ruin anyone who tried to do the same to her.

If we ran her, I think she'd win.

She did not reply to the falsities and by that action made him look like a total fool. It was a good play to let others including media figure out he didn't know what he was talking about and stereotyping her background.
He himself has had a stroke and is disabled, yes Illinois had 2 candidates for senator in 17 both disabled, so he would not have gone there, but being a republican instead went for an ignorant comment he thought might appeal to the bigot right , questioning her heritage and family's military service. They will always go low
and yes now there is a renewed leftist separation and she is ex military
I just want her to stay my senator. Both Durbin and her both seem solid

The ACA mitigated a bit of that, but now it has to be 'corrected'.

Just don't get sick under Trumpcare.

I'm just sorry that the majority of Americans will pay a steep price for the indifferent attitude of those who chose to stay home and ultimately allow repukes to gain so much control. Maybe people will learn to vote like their lives depend on it next time.

to them why don't we tell what they are doing to them now. 17-20% approval for this crap "plan" . Let those 80- 83% know what they can do to stop it. Let's get some kind of message out to those who will be devastated by it. Too early to say I don't think there's much we can do to stop it. Dems should be at the very least dominating the Sunday shows and anywhere else they can to not just say it's bad but explain thoroughly how and why it is MEAN.

Tammy would say she wanted to hold up the Republican health bill so that the American people could learn how bad it was and the interviewer kept jumping in with the goal of calling the Democrats obstructionists.

That was the interviewers only goal, to pin the word obstructionist on Democrats, no holding up the bill so people learn what is in it is enlightenment, not obstructionism.

Please tell me who was doing the interview so that I may never listen to them again.
