I have slowly come to the conclusion that it is not possible to reason with Trump supporters...

Screw them!

They must be called out on their refusal to face facts and their denial of reality.

They must explain why they think it is OK for a President, any President, to not condemn an adversary that blatantly interferes with our electoral process? They must explain why he criticizes our allies, as he lavishes praise on dictators and oligarchs around the world? That is not acceptable and it can never be acceptable. Anybody that agrees with such ideas, for purely partisan reasons, is no friend of America and must be defeated in any way possible. Hopefully, it will be at the polls?

They have closed their minds to any dialogue with logic and deductive reasoning. In other words, they have closed their minds to the truth and are enemies of our democracy. They are participants in the destruction of everything we have built in the last 100 years. They must be defeated. The time for rational discussion has passed. There is a price to pay when we make decisions that harm our fellow man and pretend that we are only observers cheering on our team.

We must vote them out of office and then, we must shovel them into the dustbin of history. They have nothing to offer except destructive opinions and harmful policies. We cannot accept such people to control the debate in such an aggressive manner without fighting back. We can no longer reason with them - we must let it be known that they are unacceptable to the very concept of democracy.

deal with non voters and 3rd party voters who otherwise would vote against the fascists.

There are way more of us than them, especially if we EDUCATE ourselves on how the TWO, not THREE party system works.

Hint, NO 3rd party vote ever does ANYTHING other than help the other side, or in this case FASCISTS.

Hint #2, the party with ONE MORE SEAT than the other not only makes all the decisions, they even make it possible that NO bill EVER gets to the WH that takes HC away from people, for instance.

I still think I am talking to myself about this often, that people simply refuse to get it.

If you even a discussion with right wing loons you are simply wasting your time. All you do is feed into false equivalncy. Once in a while I like to ask an embarassing question, just for giggles. You can ask a questiob in any field and I can guarantee they don't know the answer.

Friend and I both had psycho interactions with trumpians who were far removed from reality. I recounted mine here months back when it occurred. Eerie similarities. Complete denial of reality.

They love authoritarians.

Take this quote from my brother, "You know, in Singapore, if you get caught with drugs, you die."

They long for a "law and order" society.

Facts? It's fake. It's all fake. All hail the Dear Leader.

The only thing that keeps a tiny smile on my face - they are old, have hypertension, diabetes, sky rocketing cholesterol levels. And why wouldn't they, "no one is going to tell me what to eat or how to live". A great number of them will be deceased before the next election.

The ship will be righted.

Also, they're remarkably delicate, given the posts I've seen on jerkfaceradials and elsewhere. It apparently hurts their feefees to be reminded that they're a bunch of idiot racist fuckheads who voted for an idiot racist fuckhead.

And I look forward to reading this post quoted there as evidence of Liberal hate speech, etc.

This isn't about reason as they see reason/facts/etc. as left wing propaganda/conspiracy. What they hold are right wing ideals and ironically, conspiracies, they treat as facts and you are "stupid" for not doing the same. And the more you punch holes into their ideals and conspiracies with facts, they start to get very angry. This isn't a philosophy to them, its a religion and you are a heathen that needs to be burned at the stake for calling and proving their god false. But unlike religion, which is a belief in something that can not be proven, nor should it ever be, this is tangible and not subject to faith.

Was at a bar one time with a friend when out of nowhere the bartender said "you know, Obama is going to declare martial law and extend his term". We looked at him weirdly, the friend and I weren't even talking politics. So I responded "Impossible. He would need the backing of Congress, the Supreme Court and the military to do something like that, it ain't happening". His response "well...I don't know, it will probably happen".

He laid out a conspiracy with nothing to back it up.

I laid out facts that rejected the conspiracy.

He rejected the facts and clinged onto the conspiracy with no facts.

Long story short, we finished our drinks and left with not tipping. Fact, there is a price to be paid when you randomly bring up politics in a setting it has no business in, particularly when you assume, just because we were white, we were republican.

If they become willing to see what's in front of their face, then there will be no need for me to describe it to them.
