They are doing it to cynically manipulate and to subjugate their base and their supporters. They are using confusion to spread doubt between the political camps.
The latest example is how they are telling their followers that Trump is not under investigation. As if they would send a memo or an email to inform them of the progress of an on-going investigation.
The ability for deduction and logic are necessary to cope with this bunch of miscreants. The Trump team understands that they must keep their base together if they are to survive this scandal. They are using propaganda and PR to keep their flock together. Because they are hoping their supporters do not reach the point where they might ask, "What is wrong with investigating the Russians and those that are allied with them against America?"

Now Kellyanne is on Faux this morning telling us how
the Russia investigation is wasting tens of millions
of dollars.
And they're only getting started.

Yeah, it is fun to mock KAC's absdurd phrase, but people often don't realize that "alternative facts" are not actually new "facts" or a different understanding of facts, but lies and nothing but lies.
