Too Many People In The US Are Just Plain Demented, Twisted And Mean Spirited.

These elections could not turn out as they do if the country were not so out of it mentally. How can we remain a super power under the conditions that elected Trump and keep so many nasty, racist and stupid GOP legislators in office. And many of them are top leaders.

The flag does not stand for a country that is good and wholesome. I see little noble anymore worth defending. Sure I am a veteran but I could not in good conscience serve again. I was drafted and served anyway. To volunteer for military service today would seem like a waste now that we have Trump and the GOP in charge. Damn they even want gut care for wounded veterans.

5. We didn't used to need them.

Internal pressures to moderation kept things in check. Those pressures are gone now on R SIDE.

2. we have always had those people, what made it worse were the "supposedly" ones who voted

for stein or not voted at all because they couldn't/wouldn't support the "lesser of 2 evils"...smart people who gave us trump...it was NOT the trump voter....

the conservative branch of american politics have most always been "mean spirited" going back at least 30 years, driven to the extreme once the "fairness dotrine" was dropped and media like foxnews, rush limbough and the like exploded over the airwave. Combine that with the outright laziness of too many democratic voters and we are here today. We are still a great country, going thru a tough time right now.

6. 2015: U.S. High School Graduation Rate Hits New Record High

U.S. students are graduating from high school at a higher rate than ever before, according to new data from the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics. The nation's high school graduation rate hit 81 percent in 2012-13, the highest level since states adopted a new uniform way of calculating graduation rates five years ago.

"America's students have achieved another record-setting milestone," U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said. "We can take pride as a nation in knowing that we're seeing promising gains, including for students of color. This is a vital step toward readiness for success in college and careers for every student in this country, and these improvements are thanks to the hard work of teachers, principals, students and families."
