Francis: An "absurd contradiction" to speak of peace while promoting/permitting the arms trade...

(June 2, 2017 - Vatican Radio)

Pope Francis has released his video message accompanying his monthly prayer intention for June.

...The text of the video message reads:

"It is an absurd contradiction to speak of peace, to negotiate peace, and at the same time, promote or permit the arms trade.

Is this war or that war really a war to solve problems or is it a commercial war for selling weapons in illegal trade and so that the merchants of death get rich?

Let us put an end to this situation. Let us pray all together that national leaders may firmly commit themselves to ending the arms trade which victimizes so many innocent people."

******************************************

The video shows a familiar 'signing' ceremony between two men: At 30 seconds, blood begins to flow from the (presumed) seller's hand. I imagine that it is only a coincidence that Trump was crowing about making the biggest, best arms deal evah(!) just hours before his visit to the Vatican.

2. They don't get it because they won't hear it!

Fox won't show it and Republicans are only pretending to be Christians anyway. Why else would they do the opposite of the teachings of Christ? Why else would they be such hypocrites about almost everything?

6. Now that Trump wants the churches in America to become political...

It's time for the Pope to instruct his clergy to read his message to to all Catholics attending Sunday Mass throughout the country.
