A dying president just committed suicide

Overwhelmingly, even in America, the people supported the Paris agreement. only 17% support pulling out, according to a recent Yougov/Huffpost poll.

Overwhelmingly the media is going to trash Trump over his decision.

Overwhelmingly business leaders are going to contradict his claim that pulling out is good for jobs and the economy.

Overwhelmingly, other world leaders are going to create more unfavorable headlines about Trump's decision.

Overwhelmingly, the tide has turned and the American people are now concerned about climate change. Trump has zero intellectual credibility in the minds of most voters to be making a decision with worldwide implications.

This, combined with a push for other very unpopular policies, such as Trumpcare, massive tax cut for the rich, while gutting safety net programs, and the travel ban, plus RussiaGate, mean Trump just keeps cutting his own throat.

Prediction - he will be polling in the mid-thirties by next week.

1. "only 17% support pulling out" - I doubt even 17% of Americans know what the Paris agreement is. n/t

5. I know, but the remaining 35% knuckle

Draggers will see this as their man up against the elitists, and it will strengthen his support among them

7. Exactly...it's low on most people's radar screen.

Not an issue that will do much to influence most people's votes, with the exception of a) environmentalists, and b) those who hate environmentalism ("those damn tree-huggers taking away our jobs for the sake of some stupid owls". And those two groups cancel each other out.

6. That sounds about right

It will only hurt him with people that already loathe him. His base will just say "those Europeans are all f**s!" I don't see it moving any numbers either way.

3. Yes. His scorched earth policy is going to burn him up.

Meanwhile attention on the American cities and mayors who support the Paris Accord will grow rapidly.

Trump's decision to pull out of Paris Accord is having a negative impact on him just like firing Comey did.

8. Let's revisit this after hurricane season is over.

We'll see how much support he has then.

13. All it takes is one New Orleans level disaster

We all know a major weather event is inevitable. What if California has a major earthquake? What if there is a 9/11 level terrorist attack on our soil? I weep for my fellow Americans.

9. He just may have signed the death warrant for the republic.

Most if not all blue states will negotiate memoranda of understanding with other countries on climate change. That will begin the rift that breaks the country apart.

11. Just what Putin has in mind.

Right after the election he put the big in Trump's ear about how California should secede.

12. Trump never had any intellectual credibility to begin with.

And this is making an already terrible situation about 1,000,000,000 worse.

14. He had to look down TWICE to read Paris Climate Accord.

He does not even know the name well enough to say it.

I saw a headline on CNN...."US leaves Paris Agreement"...no Trump did.

16. Most Republicans in Congress,

.....his funders, and FOX news will all continue to support him. The Mercers especially do not believe in global warming.

De Vos is working to remove climate change science from the text books used in schools.

I'd say we're far from secure from the effects of Trump/Bannon on this issue. Most Americans don't even know what the Paris Accords are.
