President Trumps budget is proposing a $1.7 trillion cut in food stamps, childrens health insurance, Social Security Disability Insurance and other social safety net programs to balance the budget and pay for his tax cuts to the wealthy.
Axios reported, Where the entitlement cuts are made: From programs including SNAP (food stamps), CHIP (Childrens Health Insurance Program), and SSDI (Disability Insurance). The budget proposal will also assume that Trump can sign into law the American Health Care Act the Obamacare repeal and replace bill that passed the House and is now being considered by the Senate. That bill makes substantial cuts to Medicaid.
It is important to note that there are different Social Security programs. There is Social Security, Supplemental Social Security (SSI), and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSD or SSDI).
Donald Trump is literally paying for his tax cut plan where most of the benefits go to the very wealthy by taking food, health care, and income away from people with disabilities. However, slashing assistance to the disabled wasnt enough, so his administration is also cutting Medicaid, and the Childrens Health Insurance Program.
Nearly 20% of Americans have a disability, and those people are going to see some cut in assistance under the Trump budget.

(8,147 posts)of money IS NOT NEARLY AS STIMULATIVE to the economy as distributing it to those in need, who go spend it.
We already fought this battle in 2009 when we had to debate tax cuts vs other stimulative measures when the economy was tanking.
