It would be better for the Democrats politically for Trump to linger for another year

Impeaching and removing him now, quickly, would give President (*gurgle* - *mmmrrrrmpf*) Mike Pence a possible reboot, a fresh start, a chance to rise above the political moment and unify the nation.

That said, it would be better for the country if Trump got put away fast. I'd rather have a sleezy corrupt zealot who happens to be sane stinking up the White House than the utterly bonkers, reality challenged egomaniac that the Republicans nominated. Trump will eventually get confident enough on the job that he'll start overriding the military advisers currently cautioning him to not "bomb the shit out of" whatever spot on the map might be making him angry at any given moment. Pence, despite his ideology and his corruption, he's dealing from a deck that, if it doesn't have 52 cards, it at least has more than Trumplethinskin's.

And who knows, maybe the fact that he's more articulate than Trump will work in our favor. Trump's vague talking style always left people free to project onto him what they wanted to believe. Pence is clearly out of touch and it's clear when he talks. But that's not my reasoning. My real concern is that the country is overdue for a serious crisis and Trump's utter mismanagement has left the Executive Branch understaffed and leaderless. If something terrible happens, Pence is more likely to handle it competently and Trump is almost certain to fuck it up in a way that costs lives.

Trump needs to go now.

(I still have no faith in the Republican Party actually putting their country ahead of their selfish interests. I'd still wager good money Trump will be in office in 2020. But that's not the way things really need to go)

controls the House, so that won't happen soon anyhow. The only way he's gone soon is if he resigns (not likely, at least not yet), or if his apparent bad health catches up with him.

protecting him fresh in voters minds when they go to the polls in 2018. For our side, we need to recognize that southern bluedog Democrats are the best we can get from that part of the country right now, but having someone who votes with you 70% of the time beats having people that are sworn enemies to you views.

My best guess says we have to elect a new Congress before anything can be done about Trump. As you may have heard, if Trump takes a dump on the oval office desk, the Media, the Congress, and his apologists will explain how Trump has developed a method to save time so that he can get even more (sic) things done!

IMHO, this is simply another piece of propaganda...
Designed to get Dems to consider no longer actively "resisting"
& to get them to stop pushing for impeachment of 45...

I am sure KGOP & Koch Bros & for sure Russia would love it if Dems were dumb enough to save 45 from impeachment ..

The REAL issue is:

By 2018 there will not be a recognizable democracy left to save.

The Russia Sanctions from 2014 ...
which are those that Exxon Rosneft & Putin want lifted........
Are set to automatically EXPIRE in March/April 2018

The only way to extend those sanctions is either by Executive Order or by passing Senate Bill 94...
Before March 2018

Either way ... it requires the POTUS to sign / approve....

So... if 45 is still around you can bet your ass those sanctions will expire....
no action required for that to happen

At which point, this little exercise in
how to turn a democratic republic into a full on Autocracy / Trumptopian Nightmare...
Will be so entrenched & so well financed that it will take a revolutionary army/ militant uprising to get him out...

Yes, there have been so many of these fucking "45 is not so bad" OP's that I have just "saved" my response in notes so I can copy/paste ...
