Removal from office

Impeachment alone won't.

What's it take to remove a sitting President?

3. 67 Senators must vote for conviction.

We currently have 48 seats.

We would need 19 Republican Senators to vote for conviction.

9. We would need 19 Republicans to defect. Difficult but not impossible.

Particularly if the case is ironclad.

5. Impeachment is merely the equivalent of an indictment.

The president then has to be tried by the Senate, with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court acting as the presiding judge (a mostly ceremonial function). The president can't be removed from office unless the Senate convicts him of "high crimes and misdemeanors" as charged in the Articles of Impeachment. If the president is convicted and then refuses to leave the White House, I suppose federal marshals would have to drag him out.

6. He will end up resigning before he is evicted out of office!

He blame it on everyone else and say he had nothing to do with his puppet master Putin!
