I am going to be honest, I dint think Trump himself had anything to do with Russia, it was people in his campaign. But he was so angry with the press and Comey they it becomes that old adage I referenced in the title.

(50,949 posts)do whatever they wanted in his campaign. He appointed all those Russian friendly people who he didn't even know just because he was told to, like Tillerson, Manafort, Flynn, etc. He had to have known that they would be working for Russia and not the US. I think he was fully aware that Russia was throwing the election his way and he did nothing to stop them. That is a coup.
This time the crime is a LOT bigger than the cover up.
He's dirty.

(11,101 posts)He sold a $40 million house in Miami at the bottom of the market to a Russian for $100 million. His Atlantic City casinos laundered Russian money for years. He's definitely involved financially with the Russian mob.

(52,199 posts)the question is whether or not there's a provable crime. it may be easier to prove obstruction of justice than money laundering and/or violation of election laws.
but i strongly suspect that, at a minimum, benedict donald knew that russian money was supporting his campaign.
i also strongly suspect he was dealing with people and/or business subject to treasury department sanctions.

(65,336 posts)He might not have *directly* colluded with Putin to influence the election, though I do think he was at least telling his minions to cooperate.
But I think he probably would micromanage this sort of deal.
