(37,457 posts)He was treated FAIRLY in my book, but if the Russians had caught him, he probably would have been tortured first and then killed. His suicide in the bunker cheated the Russians' justice and indeed, the justice of the Allies.

(4,858 posts)...if he was alive, somehow, some way, he would have turned the trial to his advantage. He would have outfoxed the Allies, even if he had been executed along with the others. His survival, and trial, all by itself would have changed the postwar history of Germany, very much for the worse. Much better if the Soviets *had* just shot him. Stalin, whatever else you can say about him, would have understood this simple fact: don't let Hitler open his mouth...

(37,457 posts)I'm sure the neo-Nazis would have all the movies of his defending himself and "the Allies lies" (in their words and probably his words as well).

(82,849 posts)Men and women who have had it drilled into them for four years that they individually are responsible for everything their team does or doesn't do, listening to this rogue chee-toh blame everyone but himself for his troubles. Some of them were surely wondering what they had done to merit this punishment.

(56,828 posts)Roosevelt stood in the seat of his automobile to wave at the crowds and Schrank, who was standing in the front row of the crowd, had his shot. He took aim: point-blank, right at Roosevelts head. Then three things happened at the same time. A bystander hit Schranks arm; Roosevelts security detail spotted the gun and leapt from the car; Schrank pulled the trigger. The shot landed squarely in Roosevelts chest just as Schrank was tackled and put in a headlock by the bodyguard. Roosevelt is said not to have noticed he was hit until he reached into his overcoat and felt the blood on his fingers.
But it turns out that Teddys long-winded speeches saved his life that day: the bullet traveled through a 50-page copy of his prepared speech and the steel eyeglasses case he carried in the same pocket. The bullet was slowed enough not to reach his lung or heart, which Teddy deduced from the absence of blood when he spoke or coughed. He refused to go to a hospital and insisted on giving his speech.

(56,828 posts)but, when he said that no politician in history has been treated worse, he was not. Now, he may have meant the media - and I'm sure that is what Spicey will say if asked about it - but, if you can actually read what his comments were, it was clear that he meant overall and not just in the media.

Delusions of grandeur infect his every utterance and the piece of shit actually seems to think people will remember him fondly...well, Little Hands Donnie (I know he LOVES nicknames for people, so there's his) if you mean people will be happy to find a place for public urination in a pinch when you have shuffled off this mortal coil, then, yes, people will look fondly on your demise. If you mean ANYTHING ELSE, literally ANYTHING, then you must stop sniffing glue immediately and seek fresh air.
