"He likes playing on his soccer team in New York, they're all of his friends."

Trump laments family’s heavy burden, criticism from media

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/apr/30/donald-trumps-family-bears-burden-president-says/

“There is no question, it is a big burden on the family,” the president said in an Oval Office session.

Since the inauguration, Mrs. Trump has been criticized for just about everything, including her glamorous official portrait and her decision to live primarily in New York City until Barron finishes the school year.

“She’s been terribly abused by the press, really unfairly,” the president said. “She’s a high-quality person. She’s been amazing for the country.”

“I have a son who’s a very young boy — he just turned 11,” Mr. Trump said. “He’ll be taken away from his school and be put into a brand-new school. He likes playing on his soccer team in New York, they’re all of his friends, and you know he’ll be taken away from that team. We didn’t want to do it in the middle of a season.”

"Amazing for the country"

It reportedly costs the New York Police Department between $127,000 and $146,000 a day to protect the first lady and her son, and the Secret Service last month requested an additional $60 million in funding to protect the president and his family.

3. "President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama faced a similar challenge in 2009 when they moved...

...their daughters, then ages 7 and 10, from Chicago to Sidwell Friends School in Washington."

Same URL as the OP.

So, yeah...sometimes you just have to play soccer with a new group of friends.

knit kind of schools.
Kids go from nursery school to end of high school grade 12 together there at Chicago Lab

I am sure they missed thier friends too

33. Donald, what is this little fantasy world you are living in?

Melania is useless, your children are grifting idiots and you are the most bat-shit crazy, incompetent moron every to have held the office of the presidency. But you believe the exact opposite.

4. Tough!!!

Families move, children make new friends, and 11 isn't "very" young!

There isn't any law on the books requiring any local law enforcement agency to provide security for members of the "First family" on a permanent basis, that is the job of the Secret Service!!!

It's unfair that the people of NYC have to foot the bill, because two people are in a loveless marriage, and they have a spoiled brat, who will one day grow up to be as much of a grifter as the rest of his over rated family!!!

17. No kidding! I grew up in an Army family, and my oldest brother

never went to the same school 2 years in a row until he was in the 10th grade. My sister and I used to play "moving day"....we'd load up the doll house furniture into one of our brothers' toy trucks, move the truck around for a while, and then move the furniture back into the doll house. Kids are pretty resilient. It's not lost on me that Trump doesn't spend his weekends in New York reconnecting with Barron and Melania and spending quality time with them, but rather avoiding them altogether, golfing and rubbing shoulders with fat cats in Palm Beach. He's got his nerve trying to play the Barron card.

21. She's afraid ICE will arrest her, revoke her citizenship, and ship her ass back to Slovenia

for lying about working here before her visa status permitted her to do so, if anyone gets a good look at her papers. She knows this would be cheaper for her husband than a divorce, and she is past her Trump matrimony expiration date.

He should foot the bill.

But I do not care if she fills the traditional First Lady "role" or not. Her husband is trying to destroy this country, that's enough to keep me upset.

it's the highest compliment you can think of.

It speaks (coming from him) of someone who has long suffered the feeling that he doesn't really belong and isn't really accepted by those he had hoped to impress with his wealth.

If you can't advance him in some way, then you're something that needs to be denied, ignored, or crushed.

23. Indeed. He should have thought about how such a move would affect his family

before he ran for office. I don't think Barron's preferences or wellbeing play any role in the decision to keep him and Melania in NY. If Trump wanted them at the White House, they would be there.

For one thing, such a person would never use that description unless they were talking about table linens or shoes or other inanimate objects.

It's a slavery term. Buy my high-quality person!
