House GOP backs down from a last-minute push to vote on health-care bill, smoothing way for government to stay open past Friday

Despite pressure from the White House, House GOP leaders determined Thursday night that they donít have the votes to pass a rewrite of the Affordable Care Act and will not seek to put their proposal on the floor on Friday.

A late push to act on health care had threatened the bipartisan deal to keep the government open for one week while lawmakers crafted a longer-term spending deal. Now, lawmakers are likely to approve the spending bill when it comes to the floor Friday and keep the government open past midnight.

25. He is winning so much that people are saying STOP IT WITH ALL THE WINNING...

we can't take it anymore, all this winning!

NAFTA repealed! More jobs! He's the best jobs creator! Obamacare repealed and replaced with something "wonderful"! A giant wall being built on the border, paid in full by Mexico! Muslims banned from coming here to terrorize us!

Stop with all the winning!

4. Dear Republican voters

Looks like you got sold a bill of goods by a bunch of fast-talking flim-flam artists who don't give a tinker's damn about you. So, what do you say? Ready to take a fresh look at the Democrats? They're the ones who did away with insurance company denials of coverage for pre-existing conditions. They're the ones who are fighting all across the country for a living wage for everyone. They're the ones working hard to make sure your air is breathable and your water is drinkable. They're the ones who'd like your kids and grandkids to get an advanced education without incurring a lifetime of debt that can't be discharged.

Think about it.

7. Shhh don't anyone tell them they control all three branches of the government.

They'd starve to death with a hotdog in their right hand and a burger in their left because they lack the will to make a decision and stand behind it for longer than an hour.

and more proof that the Republicans don't give a damn about our health care except to give rich men a tax break by ending it.

He was one of the Republican Golden Boys, and they hoped he would be an eventual Presidential candidate. I hope his Speakership ends that dream.

13. Voting on repealing ACA is not smart by Republicans. If there is a vote

This can be held against them in 2018. The plan they have come up with is a disaster, enough of a disaster they excluded themselves

17. 55 times they voted to repeal

now they can't get it done? It was all a charade, a show trial

They can't govern because they can't make difficult choices, they can't ever
compromise, can't be disappointed, it's all or nothing for them

Democrats should not cooperate unless they need to appear reasonable,
that does have its place at times.

Every fail that PEEOTUS has till the next presidential elections will be blamed on President Obama.

Trump is a major embarrassment as president. The man is a fool, a con and a walking disaster.

The ONLY thing this president will have to show for his time is the BASIC function of not shutting the Federal Government down.

A Basic 'win' for a BASIC bitch (Putin's bitch).

37. OK, I think I get it now. The GOP majority in both houses of Congress will try 60 times

...to repeal Obamacare, and fail every time. Then they will slap each other on the back and proclaim what a good job they are doing trying to meet their constituent's goals.
