Kasich calling for mutual respect

I couldn't watch the whole interview on MSNBC because I get disgusted. I suppose I have some respect for Kasich and the idea of mutual respect has a quaint appeal.

I didn't get disgusted until he got "both sides do it-Ish" and appeared to posture. He is not moderate and I've been sucked into that by "conservatives" too many times.

He actually had the nerve to compare the current treatment of Trump by liberals to the treatment of President Obama.

His suggestion was to find common ground and work on those issues. Ok. So here is where he has to start. Kasich has to identify all "conservative" lies and smears, tell the truth, and apologize for being a compulsive.liar. Then promise to not lie again, and live up to that promise for, say 90 days. Then I'll start to trust him.

Maybe. I will not hold my breath though.

Sen. Brown and Pres. Obama notwithstanding, Ohio's voters aren't really loaded in the "smarts" department, if you digs what I'm saying.

He's always pushed out front as the "voice of reason," but when he starts with the neocon/teabagger talking points I snap out of it and remember who he is.

It was arbitrary though, and of course would have to extend way beyond that.

I have zero confidence in them ever earning my respect.

Respect women and maybe we'll respect you, asswipe. Every time I hear someone (often on our side!) calling him a "moderate" I want to scream.

Then we will reciprocate next time there is a GOP President.

You don't get to act like an asshole to our President for 8 years and then say "Let's all be reasonable"

This was done hoping to get some conservative support for what was essentially their own proposal during Obama's presidency. It got none. The GOP rebranded it Obamacare and the rest in history.

To his credit(?), Kasich declared that it's "highly unlikely" he'll seek public office again. Of course, he didn't rule it out entirely, but...

They basically gave him an open mike to tout his memoir and to real against the dysfunction of current politics. Curiously, they didn't mention the disasters he wrought in his own state...

The object of Kasich's visit was quite obvious: to guilt Democrats into opening their arms to the Republicans, so that the Republicans could return the favor when the balance of power shifted.

Bull. Shit.

As I read somewhere else today, Kasich, next time there's a Democratic President, if the Republicans treat him or her with dignity and respect and cut the partisan gameplaying, we'll return the volley later.

Until then, after 8 years of crucifying Obama (and a campaign dedicated to smearing Hillary), you and your ilk can go eff yourselves.
