"It's disgusting the way that he talks about women and I just can't deal with it..."

(CNN)New England Patriots player Alan Branch said he chose not to visit the White House Wednesday because of President Donald Trump's past sexist remarks that were caught on an Access Hollywood video.

"It's disgusting the way that he talks about women and I just can't deal with it and that's why I have no interest in going and shaking his hand," Branch told CNN's Don Lemon on "CNN Tonight." "I've gotta go back home and look my daughters in the eye, and I don't want them to view me in a different light just because I did that."
Branch was referring to Trump's taped comments that were caught on a hot mic in 2005 while he awaited an Access Hollywood interview. The Washington Post obtained a copy of the video last October during the 2016 presidential campaign. In the video, Trump is heard making offensive comments about women.

1. Because of economics and such many pro athletes become Repubs.

Nice to see this player showing some class.

2. I'm going to go out on a limb here and propose that many people who

become professional athletes had "republican' or 'conservative' values" to begin with.

In in similar way that many people who become classical musicians had 'democratic' or 'liberal' or 'progressive' values to begin with.

5. Won't argue that...

a LOT of them constantly display their Christianity. But getting suddenly rich certainly tends to bend people to the right politcally.

To their credit, at least individually, many of them also support chritable causes in their communities.

Look at that asshole in Alabama, or Jeff Sessions, or Bill O'Reilly, or Alex Jones, or Sarah Palin, or Ted Nugent, or any number of those extremely horrible people. They think they can just pray away their troubles and it will be fine. It's quite disgusting.

8. Most African Americans are Democratic.

Most African Americans are Democratic. Over 70% of NFL and NBA players are black. Most remain Democratic despite their wealth with a few exceptions.

And gawd there are even Republican artists if one can call Kid Rock and Ted Nugent artists.

Music--
I was referring to classical musicians.
Kid Rock and Ted Nugent are not classical, nor musicians nor artists. LOL

Athelitc--
I know that most African Americans are Democrats. And I know that most NBA and NFL players are African Americans. But, perhaps I put--- hum,,. how can I express this?.... maybe I put 'career' over 'race' in my comment on my opinion about athletes. Do you know what I mean? I think so.

Thanks for waking me up

an informal poll revealed that 90% of black NFL players supported Clinton and 90% of white players supported Trump. While it sounds a little skewed to me, it probably isn't that far off.

46. and in a tragically ironic twist, by extension, AA athletes keep RW radio going

at least 1/4 of the RW talk stations that have been plaguing the country and gave us trump parasitize at least major universities - many of those are the loudest in the country. there are a lot of pro teams that do the same.

and if students told their unis to look for alternatives it would probably cause a mass exodus of advertisers from rw radio and when rw radio monopoly dissolves the country can become a real democracy again.

88 universities that help Republicans deny global warming and minimize protests

athletes like this guy who get political though are often the target of attacks from rw radio....

limbaugh will casually refer to him derisively and send thousands of hate messages his way.

26. Then again, golf isn't a sport by athletic standards--

especially when navigating the course in a cart.. Table tennis is usually not called a sport, but requires more vigor than golf. OTH, most golfers I've known aren't misogynists, but they're certainly not jocks (if not involved in real sports as well). Golf is more of a social/business thing. I had a golf-fanatic uncle who'd started out playing for business, and a husband, who played only for that reason. I've know many, including a couple of pros, who would disagree about the sports thing, I realize. Most of the women golfers I know usually walk the course (unless getting elderly) and most do other forms of physical activity to stay fit . Can ANYONE imagine that Trump does any other physical thing other than lift his fork? Golf "locker-room talk" probably occurs mostly in TRUMP locker-rooms ( and yes, I have played golf enough to be so-so at it). It's more of a GAME, and a skill. Certainly many DO enjoy it and more power to them!

29. Exactly.

I've been saying it since that tape broke. There are only two options here- either you are disgusted by what he said or you aren't. It might be different if he had owned his words, renounced them, apologized, and if his behavior towards women since was completely changed.

But we all know there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of any of that, and that his attitude toward females is the same as it's always been, than anyone who supports him thinks exactly like him, and would be secretly be ok with someone doing that to their wife/daughter/sister/mother, ect

There is no gray area here.

My Repub brother voted for that orange failure and he has a daughter. I don't think this is a forgivable thing. I love my brother but WHAT THE LITERAL FUCK. And the fact that women would vote for him is just ... I really have no words. You think you've seen the worst, most idiotic and despicable human behavior and then.. women vote for and even love the Cheeto. I'll never, ever ever get over that. Not in my entire lifetime.
