WASHINGTON -- CBS News has learned that a manhunt is underway for a traitor inside the Central Intelligence Agency.
The CIA and FBI are conducting a joint investigation into one of the worst security breaches in CIA history, which exposed thousands of top-secret documents that described CIA tools used to penetrate smartphones, smart televisions and computer systems.
Sources familiar with the investigation say it is looking for an insider -- either a CIA employee or contractor -- who had physical access to the material. The agency has not said publicly when the material was taken or how it was stolen.

We believe in democracy. We will help other nations to achieve that goal.' We believe
in humanity. We will help other nations to be safe. Period. No profit. Just values.

All those secrets are part of policy precisely because people started chopping at our roots, primarily Nazis and Russians.
The Russians. Now they are the Biggest Secret. Well, used to be.

This is a factual part of history and is worse than the Rosenbergs selling nuclear secrets to the Soviets!
This is a firing squad offense. Sometimes death is the answer.

(1,428 posts)A traitor is someone who sells secret information to or works for an enemy. A whistle blower exposes secrets. Was Serpico a traitor? Was Daniel Ellsberg a traitor?

(108,914 posts)And if you don't believe our intelligence agencies (and European agencies) about that, then think: when have you EVER heard of Wikileaks posting documents harmful to Russia?
Even Mike Pompeo, who used to applaud Wikileaks, has changed his opinion since being educated in his new position heading the CIA.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/13/us/politics/mike-pompeo-cia-wikileaks.html?_r=0
WASHINGTON In his first speech as director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Mike Pompeo, the former Republican congressman who once applauded disclosures by WikiLeaks, attacked the group on Thursday as a stateless hostile intelligence unit eager to do the bidding of Russia and other American adversaries.
WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service, Mr. Pompeo said. To support his assessment, he cited how the group had encouraged followers to join the C.I.A. and steal secrets, and how it overwhelmingly focuses on the United States while seeking support from antidemocratic countries.

(15,064 posts)conspiring to create a One World Government. Now we know it was a ruse. A projection. The right wingers are the ones wanting a One World Right Wing Government. They always talk about how many "Christians" were being murdered by terrorists not mentioning that the majority were of other faiths. Their vision is to partner with Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, on and on and on to compromise oil and any other types of the world economies they could use to keep the poor and non educated down and controlled. How better to do that through propaganda and the controlling mechanism of Religion and the fear of death and the afterlife that comes with it. Hillary was right about the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. Not as it relates to just taking the Clintons down but to take down and marginalize the left as a threat to the world.
The massive military power of the US is all they need to use as a lever to do this.
There are conspiracies and the Trump criminals have proven it is.

The fact that such sensitive info is entrusted to contractors, seems like an ill-advised extension of the lunatic desire to privatize everything.
