She is rude and wrong. If I wanted to listen to her lies, I would watch Fox News.

(22,143 posts)Ignorant, vapid and obnoxious. She is cute though, which is probably why she's there.

(112,144 posts)The entire gang of The Cycle will be making promotional appearances throughout the network.
That could even mean that she will show up on Rachel.

(2,307 posts)Reminds me of a bunch of college kids siting around the dorm. Worst show ever. MSNBC needs to drop it as soon as the contract ends.
earthside
(6,960 posts)I've managed to view a couple of times for relatively brief periods.
And only that because it is a terribly dull and boring program.
If it were four college kids who were all about four sheets to the wind and were arguing bitterly about the virtues of liberalism versus the 'benefits' of conservatism, well, it might be interesting.
But that is not what it is. Is it more like four self-indulgent, spoiled, 'know-it-all' college kids each trying to show the others how smart they are.
It won't last.
On the other hand, I find it ironic that some here say that if they wanted to hear a 'conservative' like Cupp they would just watch FoxPAC News. Why do these folks just want to hear their side --- like the dedicated viewers of FoxPAC News?
One of the 'virtues' of liberalism is that it remains open to hear and discuss other points of views. Wanting to just hear a validating message is why Fox viewers are so ignorant -- I certainly don't want that from MSNBC or Ed Schultz.
SoutherDem
(2,307 posts)but it is not because she is conservative, it is her attitude. She is so pompous and arrogant. Her smirks and tone of voice appears she feels she is better than everyone else. I would welcome a conservative who has grown up. Her valley girl attitude is sickening.

But, I was in the bathroom washing the bile out of my mouth from Cupp--so I missed him.

I also predict The Cycle will be off the air soon. It's a waste of air time.

(28,347 posts)Steele is a politician. Former Lt. Gov. of Maryland & former chairman of the RNC.
Cupp is only a political commentator, author & former employee of Glen Beck.
Steele's experience, insight, & perspective is what Rachel wants to tap into. Especially since he is a rare Republican politician brave enough to come on her show.
Cupps' offering of experience, insight & perspective, imo, mean little to Rachel.
I've found Cupp to be the typical right-wing commentator that exaggerates, mis- or dis-informs & rude, to boot. Rachel would eat her alive.

(10,893 posts)and she was assigned to appear. As much as I dislike Ms. Sarah Elizabeth's politics, I don't get what the big deal is over having one conservative on the show every once in a while. Personally, I never take her seriously anyway because there's very little merit in what she says. Ed has liberals on there almost all the time, and he even had two on simultaneously while she was the only conservative there. And at least she isn't as much of a loud-mouth and as offensive as Ann Coulter or Sarah Palin.

(13,616 posts)The right owns it, and wants to set up the left "alternative" as bowling pins to knock down, problem is, it is not working, thus they force Sippy Cupp. She is attractive and arrogant, thus they hope she will lure in the Palin fans. They can also tell the conservatives "hey, we got her on, watch her." Do not be surprised if they set her up against Rachel "hey, here's a real woman that ain't no (expletive for gay woman.)

(31,464 posts)What's the point? It's one thing having these kids on as guests on other serious news shows, but I don't need to visit a nursery school to discuss politics with people that don't even know who Nixon was.
Shankapotomus
(4,840 posts)to attract the young viewership and compete with Fox's The Five. If Cupp takes away viewers from Fox, and I think that's its goal, I'm all for it. Let the kiddies have their show. (I think it might get young people more involved and educated on politics). The Cycle is perfect for that demographic. We that demand more substance have all the other shows on MSNBC.
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)Like the rest of their programming, it is weak in that demographic. The Cycle and The Five are not in head to head slots, thus they are not competing for viewers, they can share them. The demographic that is 'perfect' for the Cycle is not watching the cycle. Last week they had a tiny peak at about 100K viewers in demo, next day 80K in demo, and so on.
The Cycle is a bupke. They are hyper promoting in house because it is failing.

Putting this group of immature, shallow people in between those two great reporters is an insult to them and to your viewers.
In particular S. E. Cupp is rude, obnoxious and uninformed. I refuse to watch her and while I would not be missing much when I am avoiding The Cycle, her promotional appearances on other MSNBC shows, such as The Ed Show, are causing me to miss programs I generally try to watch.
In fact, I am watching less of MSNBC because I turn away and find other programming that is not abrasive and insulting to my intelligence as ANY time with S. E. Cupp turns out to be.
I don't watch MSNBC to see retreads from Fox News and Glenn Beck's programming. I watch MSNBC to see intelligent, well informed commentators who know about current events and don't simply regurgitate right wing nut talking points.
Get rid of S. E. Cupp and The Cycle might possibly be worth watching.

(22,896 posts)the last few days. Perhaps she's having an "off" week, but she seems more a part of the foursome, rather than a threesome + one conservative.
Maybe word got out? I know of people who have emailed MSNBC about her lack of professionalism.

(103,856 posts)I wish that MSNBC would cluster them all together on ONE show and get them OFF the rest of the shows.
Once & for all test their ratings gathering..and then jettison them all on Fox's front steps when they fall flat.
We don't tune into the very few shows that lean left to have to keep hitting the mute button every time one of these right-wing miscreants opens their yap..
I don't CARE what they think... if I did, I would be watching FOX or CNN
