Breaking: D.C. public schools were not invited to mostly white White House Easter Egg Roll
By Tommy Christopher | April 18, 2017

Even as Donald Trump's administration was demanding gratitude for holding an Easter event which has been held for 139 years, they excluded children from the predominantly-Black Washington, D.C., public schools. But they did make sure to have an all-white band on hand to perform slave spirituals and soul music.

Donald Trump kicked off the week by holding his first-ever White House Easter Egg Roll, and forgetting to hold his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.

Nevertheless, the event managed to earn him fair-to-glowing press from the likes of The New York Times and The Washington Post,
the latter of which reported that “despite concerns, all seemed to go off without a hitch.”

Aside from the thin crowds and Trump’s anthem gaffe, however, there was actually a major hitch: Unlike previous Easter Egg Rolls under President Obama, children from the Washington, D.C., public schools were not invited, as a spokesperson for the district confirmed in an email to Shareblue.

It was a glaring absence, unnoticed by a corporate media desperate for a positive narrative,
in an event that was notably lacking in diversity, as illustrated by other choices that the Trump White House made. For example, the musical acts that performed on the “Bunny Hop Stage” at the event were almost entirely white — even the ones who stood in for The Jackson Five:............................

I have no regard for the MSM. They allowed a demagogue to run virtually unchallenged. He is nothing more than a detestable fascist. When in the hell are the people going to rise up against the Republican Party that starting with
Reagan has been transformed into a party that is no different than the Nazis. They are nothing more that White Supremacists.

I saw a photo in which there was exactly ONE black kid in a cluster of what looked like maybe 20 kids who were being read to. But every other photo I saw looked like Easter for sheet-heads. Granted, I didn't see ALL the photos, but the ones I did see suggested that the attendance was not exactly multi-color.

IIRC, DC went heavily for Clinton in 2016. Trump is a petty grudge-holder. Ergo, no kids from DC schools.

This is the administration of and for the 1%. If you (or your parents) can't help line Trump's pockets he sees no need for you.

Easter Egg Roll tickets are free and were made available via an online lottery March 15-18, 2017. To enter the lottery, participants were prompted to create an account on the Recreation.gov website. The lottery page had a list of all of the available time slots and entrants had to rank them in the order of preference. Entrants also had to specify the number of adults/children on the ticket request screen along with their time slot choices.

Barack and Michele used to spend time at various places around DC, including public schools. However, Trump is scared of DC and leaves every chance he gets. He only received 4% of the vote in DC, and the numbers were not much higher in the surrounding counties.

All about a little bunny who thought he wanted to something else (like a bear or a skunk) but in the end realized he's a bunny and that was good.

Coming from Sessions I'm suspicious of what his point was. (And there was a picture of two little girls sitting in front of he and his wife while he was reading who looked like they wished they were any where else.)
