Trumper Dad doesn't like the Syria strike.

My Dad and Stepmother are YUGE Trumpers. My brother came to my house upset about the Syrian strike. He'd been at my Dad's house; it seems Dad isn't happy about bombing Syria.

My Trumper family is angry that we may be getting into wars.

Now, I wonder how Dad missed the part of Trump's campaign where he said, "What's the point of having nuclear weapons if you don't use them?" And how he wanted to build up the "depleted" military.

Why did my Dad go with Trump? He's Republican, but why Trump and not one of the others?

1. Trump got the most press...they're not glued to the tv to keep up with politics in detail. They probably don't even know who Rand Paul is.
2. Dad thought it was high time we had a rich successful businessman run the country like a business.
3. Dad and Stepmom hate those Muslims. They're going to come here and kill us all. Stepmom got a gun for protection from what she is sure is an impending home invasion by Muslims.
4. I think his angry, sourpuss, shouting, critical, hateful style appealed to them. 'Murica First! Damn right! Get that black Muslim out of the White House and put a real 'Murican in!

But now.....drip drip drip. Not that they think they voted wrong. But they didn't vote for war...or bombing Syria.

1. The "rich, successful businessman" trope gets me every time.

He probably owes more than he's worth, has had numerous bankruptcies, and has been propped up by many of his debtors. The only thing he's successful at is the Con. People who believe in Trumpky's business acumen are just suckers.
