trump's an idiot, and he wouldn't do this without the generals telling him to, so I believe the military is running our foreign policy. Very disturbing.

(42,590 posts)was that there was bi-partisan opposition to his doing so without Congressional authorization and it seemed likely that he would lose the vote seeking authorization.
The situation in 2013 was very messy.

trump was against it too back in 2013, oh so long ago. Edited to add: not that anyone gave a shit what trump thought in 2013.

He may have been effected by the pictures of the victims...but I believe he did this for approval ratings, to bully Xi and Kim Jung Un, and to take us away from the subject of Russiagate.
