(32,587 posts)Did anybody vote for this guy? Why is he suddenly the last word on everything?

(150 posts)Why does Kushner have a word on anything? And by the way, Special K, you unelected, uninformed twit, We The People, the citizenry are the bosses, not the customers. We hold the sovereignty of this nation. And why is Kushner getting this great damn big portfolio? So Dolt45 can play some more golf.

(3,286 posts)...is why you have a salesman for president and why everything, including basic human services, is For Sale in the USA.
Health, Justice and social security for example which is why most Americans see 'Insurance' as a legitimate health investment.
Also explains why some folk go bonkers over 'vaccination'.

(6,907 posts)Fascination with "running the country like a business." The whole point of a business is for the people running it to make money. I don't really want that to be the point of the government. On the contrary ID prefer the people running it not to make a lot of money off it.

(29,034 posts)It's why they want to privatize everything, so it will be self-funded and we can stop making their billionaire doners pay taxes for them. Unless it's directly benefits THEM, the .01 percent wealthiest and their lackeys in congress don't want to pay for squat.

(6,907 posts)and I believe you are correct. I understand why the rich ones that are getting richer off it would like it, but I don't get why the working people would. I mean to me the idea "of like a business" sounds horrible. Imagine comcast running the fire department.

(11,869 posts)I tried that argument one time when I was stopped for speeding. The officer wasn't impressed, and still wrote a ticket.
I decided that wasn't an effective strategy

(48,959 posts)They deliberately do not say that one of the main principles of business it that you make money by spending money.
A well run government spends taxpayer money to support taxpayers so they can be productive and earn greater prosperity and enjoy life more. Good government spends on:
* Education so people have skills and wisdom (understanding) to be really productive.
* Health care so that illness is prevented, alleviated quickly, and people can spend more time gaining prosperity.
* Environment so that people are not debilitated by pollution.
* Consumer protection so that people don't have their life savings taken by crooks.
* Productive infrastructure such as public transportation for efficient movement of goods and services and people.
When you invest in the well-being of the People of the USA, the country remains competitive and a great place to live.

(99 posts)Why is the republican-controlled senate and congress letting 45 and his ilk get away with all of this stuff?!!
Nunez canceling all meetings this week?
Kushner doesn't know that "we the people" are his boss, not the other way around?
45 tweeting that the Russia investigation is a hoax?
FBI having knowledge of Russia's meddling in July and said nothing, but 11 days before the election they bring up Wiener's laptop with HRC emails that have nothing?
A president that lies every time he moves his lips. Colbert had a great clip last night with 45 recently saying he NEVER said he would repeal and replace Obamacare, then he showed about 5 different clips of the idiot saying on day one he would repeal and replace Obamacare?
Does the government even care that we have a president being investigated by the FBI? What's wrong with this country? Why are we rolling over for this idiot who is determined to destroy this country as we know it? Who is speaking for the people? Who is looking out for us? Is their hatred of Obama and HRC so deep that they would allow a fool to tear down in one term what it took centuries to build?

(20,018 posts)No, because the government is currently dominated by the GOP.
And they are all authoritarians and con men who are fine with the things Trump is doing.
The big question is: Why are the voters happy to keep putting these anti-Americans in positions of power?
