DUers from California:
How is the Nunes thing playing in his home district? This guy not only needs to be removed from the Oversite Committee; he needs to resign from Congress!

2. I drove by his office right before lunch and there are a few dozen protestors outside his
Clovis office. Considering how deep red it is here that is saying something. I wish I had taken a picture but I had no opportunity to stop. That weasel needs to go.

3. Here's an article from Fresno Bee about his latest stunt
His "neighbors" are defending him but there are also have been protestors with bullhorns outside his "gated community" that's call Presidential Estates (not kidding). He won his district 44-34. Local Dems are trying to fund/find a Dem to run against him.
My home is elsewhere but I work all around CA and spent some time in his district. Worst 13 weeks ever. I spent a lot of time escaping to the coastal areas. Central Valley is the red part of CA. Lots of "Farmers for Trump" banners along the roadside last year. Low income area, ranked the "least educated area" in the US in one poll I saw within the last year. The area farmers are VERY dependent on field workers and one report I read said that they will also be hit hard by drumf messing with the TPP because a lot of their crop selling benefited from sales overseas to that part of the world. Basically, his constituents are like other drumf supporters around the country..voting against their own best interests. http://www.fresnobee.com/news/politics-government/politics-columns-blogs/political-notebook/article140691643.html Here's the FB page of the local group that plans protests and is raising money to unseat him. https://www.facebook.com/pg/TogetherWeWillFresnoCV/posts/?ref=page_internal More Fresno articles: http://www.fresnobee.com/news/politics-government/politics-columns-blogs/political-notebook/article141007458.html http://www.fresnobee.com/news/local/article140444818.html |
