I was a Hillary supporter and I felt so depressed after the election.
It took quite a while to recover.
Everyday, since he took the office, I felt sick with his new 'orders'.
This guy is going to destroy this country.
Well, in a way, I should feel a relief today since it is confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation.
Instead, I feel a deep groom and almost depressed.
I am so afraid since there are still too many people in power who can continue screwing up this country.
I also noticed that in a way, I never recovered. I only suppressed.
I need a better way to deal with my groom.

I'm not depressed, and I doubt it's only you.
Today's hearing confirms some "good" news: the president poses an extreme danger to the nation and world.

Maggot is trying to destroy the things
that make us great. We have to move from gloom to anger and resistance.
In the meantime splurge on you. A new book. A movie.
New cloths. New pet. Something to lift your spirit.

(6,272 posts)Because it feels like just more tease...... I feel as though the republicans will never ever let another republican leader get impeached. It seems to me that that is what they learned from Watergate.
Very dismal I am......

(16,089 posts)he's their shiny object to keep people's minds off of what they are really doing to all of us.
And they will never impeach one of their own, they will choose party over country 100% of the time.
They will choose Russia over the USA 99% of the time.

(66,316 posts)I voted for Hillary. I was so sure she was going to win. And she did, really. She got more votes.
I have no idea where we are going as a country. That is immensely depressing.
We are the laughingstock of the world. That is even more depressing.
It's only DU that is keeping me on an even keel...

almost everybody I'm in contact with is still in the denial stage...even the librarian at the drive up window (from Romania) is bummed...we talked about it today, as I sat with my arm out the window.
I try to watch/listen to amusing stuff, but it's really hard
they really are nazis....sorry, but how much more obvious is it going to get? hope it's not too late, but the more this goes on.....
OK...try this...actually made me feel good for a few minutes....laughed pretty hard several times:

He has normalized this kind of freak show, and I fear we won't ever recover.

(24,726 posts)For our country tonight.
Watching the rethigs today spin spin spin so obviously lying, becoming desperate. While the Dems were the adults in the room.. We told these idiots they were crazy and would regret their pick. That for 8 years they worked as anti-patriots stalling anything good that Obama could have really accomplished over nothing more than vain glory.
Listening to a sensible Republican Will Hurd of TX on briwi now. Everyone is just sad. The country is sad and exhausted. Maybe we can make something positive out of this. But we have a long way to go and it's going to take everything we've got. And even then it's not a sure thing.

(5,240 posts)new mess has happened. I am having a hard time with the depth of dishonesty of the republicans. They practically wanted to impeach Obama when a photo was released with him in a suit coat without a tie as he sat behind the desk in the oval office. Now we have a group of fascists running the executive branch that colluded with Russia and whose conflicts of interest are boundless and we get crickets from the republican congress. Even if 45 is tossed we still have an unamerican congress and a member of the christian Taliban as president. The damage that will be done by the sociopaths in congress over the next 2 years my be irreversible. And there is always the threat of war hanging over our heads.

(10,096 posts)One big difference, the RWNJ were paranoid and frightened by things that President Obama never intended to do and could not have done even if he wanted to (example get rid of their guns) or socialize healthcare. I'm terrified of what the majority in Congress have always said they have wanted to do and are on their way every day. Getting rid of ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, SS, and a litany of other things.

Be as strong as you can manage. It's rough going for many of us. You are not alone by any measure. Do something indulgent for yourself.
We have a newish dogga dogg. I feed the backyard birds. They are so innocent, not a care in the world. We've been getting Bluebirds! Sooo vivid blue, sooo pretty!

(9,974 posts)"First month", 50 days, 60 days....I think "has it ONLY been xx days?". Feels like dog years. January 20 seems like a decade ago. This cannot go on for four more years...it just can't. The man is not stable.
Yeah, the country has been through national crisis and wars before and made it through...I'm sure our ancestors who were alive back in the Depression and various wars and every national crisis before/during/after those times thought the same about their current events and they pulled thru but this time the threat is our OWN FUCKING GOVERNMENT with a mad man at the helm.
If this shit had ever happened in another country the US (once upon a time) would be the first to condemn them and place sanctions and the UN/NATO/international relief agencies would have boots on the ground in the country it was happening in.

(9,314 posts)I feel like the Country is in a free fall, and I do not sleep well at night. This is something that will not be resolved by tomorrow. The only glimmer of hope I see is that with each new day, I see more and more people stepping out and saying in effect we can't go on like this. I do not know how it will end, but I do know now more and more people feel the same as you and I do. And that is comforting.

(833 posts)I checked Google News this morning and saw some Ted Cruz former staff wrote an opinion piece about this.
Commy helped hurting Hillary so badly and he is the one just dropped this bomb shell.
In other words, he already has pretty undeniable information.
Still, we have to watch Republican and Trumb destroying this country everyday.
One thing we can do. We really need to start SNS war against Alt right and support main stream media.
MSNBC and most of Newspapers are doing a great job so far and we should support them as well.
This is all I can say right now. I am from Baltimore, MD, bluest part of very blue state.
My daughter is learning about the reality of fake news and she hates Trump a lot by now.

(11,686 posts)Besides being a woman I have disabilities and to make it worse you can not tell I have them by looking at me and talking to me for a few minutes and people like that are considered lazy and talking advantage of the system just because it can not be immediately seen. I stand to lose everything because of this man and his thugs. Please do not think I only think of myself because I am also more scared for the poor disabled children who could have a chance to have a normal life but that is being ripped out from under them. I am old and it does not matter as much as it does for the young. I am still scared though. The fear does depress me but it is more fear than depression.

The sitting US President is for all intents and purposes a traitor who conspired with an adversarial foreign power in order to help gain power.
Putting aside my pre-existing disdain for the man, that's still an unavoidably sobering thought.

(20,174 posts)I was depressed before the election. It's something I've struggled with my entire adult life, almost 40 years. But since the election, I have been in an absolute pit of despair.
But lately, I've gotten a wee bit better. I'm going to a class to get deputized to register voters. I going to go to a happy hour here in Houston called "Drinking Liberally". I'm going to a movie tonight.

I'm originally from Houston, born in '57, and I can't believe how big it has gotten. When I was growing up, we lived in Sharpstown, which was just a few miles outside Loop 610. It was the edge of town in the 60s, but now it's considered close in!
If you are a fan of street art, this was painted at the Last Concert Cafe a few months ago.

(20,235 posts)love to visit Houston someday. Several acrylics we bought depict Houston scenes. Two of Hermann Park and one of a street's twin lamplights with a clock tower in the distance. The artist donates a percentage to conservation and other worthy organizations.
