"This is the most failed first 100 days of any president."

Hey, Donny's finally got a YUUGE achievement to his name. Beautiful achievement. Historic. Greatest achievement ever.

President Trump faces his hardest truth: He was wrong

...

Trump did not merely allege that former president Barack Obama ordered surveillance on Trump Tower, of course. He asserted it as fact, and then reasserted it, and then insisted that forthcoming evidence would prove him right.

...

Questions about Russia have hung over Trump for months, but the president always has dismissed them as “fake news.” That became much harder Monday after the FBI director proclaimed the Russia probe to be anything but fake.

“There’s a smell of treason in the air,” presidential historian Douglas Brinkley said. “Imagine if J. Edgar Hoover or any other FBI director would have testified against a sitting president? It would have been a mind-
boggling event.”

Brinkley, who has published biographies of such presidents as Gerald Ford, Franklin Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt, said of Trump’s start, “This is the most failed first 100 days of any president.”

1. And it's only day 60. Or so.

Time to refrigerate this stew before it really starts to rancify. Oops. Too late.

3. Day 51, according to Trump:

Jeff Zeleny ✔ @jeffzeleny

"I've been here like 51 days, give me a chance," @realDonaldTrump says in Louisville, on Day 60 of his presidency. Which 9 is he forgetting?

Maybe he's not counting golf days.

25. Since he cheats when he plays

fudging the number of golf days also is a given.

Speaking of historian Douglas Brinkely, we went to the same high school. He was 3 years younger, I remember him vaguely.

15. The only way a 7-11 manager could fail is by not showing up...

The way Trump has failed is by showing up.

fail to destroy their legacy. Donald Trump exudes a very special kind of stupid.

22. It was a joke.

I'd say being buried just a month after taking the Oath of Office was worse than having low approval ratings and a FBI investigation.

23. I'm curious what you're hearing on the ground over there

Knowing something of your position, of the people you are interacting with, what is their impression? Are they shaking their heads at the American people in disbelief? Or do most understand that Trump is an aberration that we can most likely overcome?

In short, has the average European given up on us or are they just befuddled, amazed etc?

Yes, maybe for now, but if they lose their healthcare, or even if it fails to improve by 2018 some of the sheep are going to leave the fold.

And if indictments come down around the same time...? The mid-terms might be looking pretty good for Dems.

28. And yet, when...

...his followers are questioned, they say that the first 100 days have been like Xmas every day. Not kidding. One of them actually said that on NPR.

The Repugs who control all branches of our government right now are not going to let the truth of failure be the narrative.

They want their tax, and regulation reform. They want to defund much of SS and Medicare and Medicaid and so, will keep keep insisting that he's doing what his voters want. Which is true. Ergo, not a failure.

I am as freaked out by one quarter of the country as I am by 45.

I'll type the word:

"Good."

I seriously think the world would be better off without him. Indeed, we would have all been better off if he'd had some bizarre gardening accident as a young man, but I digress.
