Top Trump backer: Its time to throw Paul Ryan and his health care "death wish" under the bus

Top Trump backer: It’s time to throw Paul Ryan and his health care ‘death wish’ under the bus

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/03/top-trump-backer-its-time-to-throw-paul-ryan-and-his-health-care-death-wish-under-the-bus/

In a new column published on Tuesday, (Newsmax CEO Paul) Ruddy advises the president to ditch Ryan’s Obamacare replacement plan, which he says only enhances the worst aspects of the Affordable Care Act.

“I am amazed that House Republicans haven’t given up on their political death wish,” Ruddy writes of the GOP’s health care plan. “Interestingly, Ryan Plan II accepts key parts of the Obamacare law that benefit the insurance industry. But it ends the Medicaid expansion program that benefits the poor and keeps costs down. Instead, Ryan II forces poor individuals back into the private health insurance market with the help of tax credits. I wonder who that benefits?”

Instead of lining up behind Ryan’s plan and trying to appease the House Freedom Caucus, Ruddy recommends that Trump throw conservatives under the bus and strike out on his own with a health plan aimed at winning Democratic votes.

“Trump won the presidency by trusting his own instincts and ignoring the GOP establishment, including its views on healthcare,” he writes. “Donald Trump staked out the high moral ground by calling for a feasible system of universal healthcare to replace Obamacare. He shouldn’t retreat for that no matter how much the establishment GOP dislikes it.”

1. As much as I enjoy seeing RWers eat each other alive, I think I'll watch this with caution.

2. interesting. i've been thinking, obama triangulated in pushing a right-wing plan (obamacare);

therefore, donnie's best play is reverse-triangulating by pushing a left-wing plan (universal healthcare).

i'm of mixed minds about it. first, i don't know if donnie could get it passed anyway over republican objections.
second, i don't like the idea of republicans authoring universal healthcare, they'd screw it up for generations.

on the other hand, hey, if we can get universal healthcare out of this disaster of a political environment, who am i to object.

3. since Don the Con changes mind every 2 mins., he will turn himself into a pretzel

Anyway, Don is not in control. Clearly, he just wants to go golfing and enjoy AF1 and free trips to Mar a Lago.

I think Kushner/Ivanka of conservative leaning are up against Bannon who wants to smash gov. completely. No doubt Rancid is in the middle playing referee. Dump sees his job as smiling for cameras, golfing and hosting at M-a-L. What, me worry? ?itok=k5xxYGEr

4. Calling it anything but TrumpCare, protects Trump. RW sites are trying to call it RyanCare now.

.

This is just like the media using the term "alt-right" instead of White Supremacists.

It gives shelter to the white supremacists, and assigns some nebulous term for them in the media.

Trump does not want this to be called TrumpCare. It not only reflects poorly on him, but it also might damage the next iteration of it. There is a lot of pushback by Trump's White House on using TrumpCare as a term for this new plan.

The RWers want to call it RyanCare to set up Paul Ryan as the pasty for this mess.

It is imperative that we stay on message and retain TrumpCare, so he owns it!

After all, he is the de facto leader of the Republican Fascist Party and accepts credit for everything else.
