with Senator Bernie Sanders. At least the trump voters realised that their coal mining jobs are not coming back. And with this new trumpcare, they know that they will not be covered under medicare. It is so frigging sad that the richest country in the world in short changing its poor to give more money to the richest 2%. My only hope is that some Republicans will go against this shitty trumpcare.

(91,965 posts)of people are going to die because of this immoral paul ryan/trump healthcare plan, and those who vote for that miserable SOB, facilitated that.

(5,700 posts)They elected this clown and am not sorry for them. If they thought the coal mining jobs were coming back, they are effing stupid. Bernie said it best, Trump supporters are going to be worst off!
But this new deal is horrendous, I just hope some republicans disagree with it and kill it!

(91,965 posts)the ryan plan, and if that is true, then the Senate will have to come up with their own version for reconciliation. That is the opportunity for the Senate Democrats to push for Medicare for all, or at least offer significant improvements to the ACA, none of which I suspect the Senate republicans will agree to.
Barring that, our best hope would be that this gets locked up in an impasse, so nothing changes until 2018, when we try to at least take back the house

(5,700 posts)For the first time in my life, I cannot believe that the person the people elected to support them is now screwing them over.
People will die if they do not have coverage. This new shit by the Republicans is tantamount to killing people who cannot afford the high cost of medicare.

(15,394 posts)it was so interesting to listen to a part of this country I know so little about. Not sure there were many Trump supporters there nor am I sure anyone changed their mind. The coal miner still seemed to think the answer to it all is to bring back coal jobs even though it was explained to him that they will not because the jobs have been mechanized.
But the Democratic state official who voted for Trump? F him he should know better.

(5,700 posts)Are they all so effing stupid that they beleved him that he could bring back coal mines? I have no idea who these suckers are but they believed an idiot whom they elected. America is fucked for four years with this jackass in the white house. Who would have thought a pussy grabber would be in the white house. The fool does not know how to lead, he is a total idiot and the world is mocking this asswipe! What were Americans thinking when they voted this dick as the resident of the white house, what the fuck were they thinking?

(5,700 posts)that their voting for him will take away their healthcare which President Obama pushed for so that rich people will benefit. To be honest with you, if anyone voted for that shitstain, they deserve what they get!
I meant that President Obama was not protecting the rich, he was protecting the poor and now Trump is taking that away from them!

(5,700 posts)The killings of innocent kids and cops are not held responsible is mind fucking boggling. Same shit here in Canada, no difference but they think we are stupid when their racism surfaces!
akbacchus_BC
(5,700 posts)now they are realising he only wanted their votes. Stupid is not an excuse for voting for an idiot! Can you imagine how the US would be if Mrs. Clinton had gotten elected. Now we have an asshole in the white house blaming the former President of wire tapping him an he is pulling this shit out of his ass! Ryan and the cabal should go have an orgy and fuck themselves. these fuckers are mind bogglling. end of rant!

(7,349 posts)Arkansas senator Tom Cotton spoke out against the proposed new healthcare act, probably cuz he got decimated at town hall meeting in his home state...maybe, just maybe he has a conscience and a bit of humanity?

(5,700 posts)Elected officials are accountable to the people who elect them but the republicans seem entitled. I hope in in 2018, most of these senators are not elected again, they do not deserve to be elected. They are complict with trump who is a pussy grabber and has no idea how to fucking govern.

Me thinks - a GOP politician (yes, aware of political realities in his state) might be thinking beyond the narrow range of thoughts that the party allows. Trump is even half the things are true is going to do damage to the GOP (of course not to the party faithful, but rather the independents). I think that Mr. Cotton is playing the long game... me thinks that we might be looking at the very early beginnings of what might end up being a player in a third party.

(7,392 posts)Was because of how deft Sen. Sanders was with his answers. He constantly told the people "it is not your fault for the situation you find yourself in". But he didn't back away from pointing out that climate change is real and that the coal jobs will not come back in any significant way because of mechanization. He then asked if there were new jobs that paid as well as coal mining and had the benefits of coal mining if they would work those jobs. When they said "yes" he then turned that into a need for better education so that people had the skills these new jobs would demand. Excellent job of re-framing by Bernie. Chris Hayes is a good moderator for these events too.

(458 posts)More Dem Senators should be doing town hall events exactly like this. God knows that the Republicans aren't interested in hearing their constituents.
