I have never heard of roku. Now I think its something I am going to look into. Once again, I see FOX is offered and MSNBC is not. But overall it looks like a good product and would be a great addition to the TV.

(67,032 posts)ROKU that is horrible with just short video clips. I don't know why they did that, a lot of people have complained.
We use it all the time, it's amazing what's out on internet tv as an alternative to traditional cable and the subscriber stuff.

(4,667 posts)After the 50 or 100 bucks, what is the monthly fee?

(67,032 posts)HuluPlus which has lots of TV series is about $8/mo. I have both of these.
There are also lots of free channels. It has all sorts of stuff, some for pay and some for free. Just between Netflix and HuluPlus http://www.hulu.com/plus that's thousands of movies, TV stuff, etc.
I have some other services that are about $3/year. Some horror/scifi channels, etc.
There is also a channel called Nowhere TV http://www.thenowhereman.com/roku/ than brings in all sorts of stuff. It is free, but I donate.
There is also Amazon where you can pay for a movie at a time (stream rental for I think 48 hours). I do that sometimes for really late releases. The charge can vary, but it seems it was around $3/movie. I don't use it much. Sometimes that can be a little more than $3, and sometimes less.
You'll need enough horsepower on your internet connection to handle ROKU. I have a 10gbps connection, but you can get away with a lot less than that.
"What is the minimum Internet connection speed I need to use my Roku player?" See >>> http://support.roku.com/entries/20289373-what-is-the-minimum-internet-connection-speed-i-need-to-use-my-roku-player
Hope this helps some.
