Rand Paul: Just because a couple people on the SupremeCourt declare something to be 'constitutional'

LOL. Press release from one of our stupidest politicians:

http://paul.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=562

Jun 28, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following today's U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare, Sen. Rand Paul offered the following statement:

"Just because a couple people on the Supreme Court declare something to be 'constitutional' does not make it so. The whole thing remains unconstitutional. While the court may have erroneously come to the conclusion that the law is allowable, it certainly does nothing to make this mandate or government takeover of our health care right," Sen. Paul said.

"Obamacare is wrong for Americans. It will destroy our health care system. This now means we fight every hour, every day until November to elect a new President and a new Senate to repeal Obamacare," he continued.

For all the quasi-libertarian/teabag rhetoric of freedom and liberty, so few of them have actually READ the constitution aside from the second amendment...

And still hasn't gotten over it and still wants to go back that far.

They think the SCOTUS is only a trial court for maritime disputes.

If the Supreme Court says something is constitutional, it's constitutional. That's the way the system works, like it or not. Go read Marbury v. Madison, Senator, before you flap your gums on this topic again.

Actually you are incorrect. It is well established law in this country from the seminal case of Marbury v. Madison that the Supreme Court determines which acts of Congress or the President are constitutional. It is part of the brilliant checks and balances the Founders included in our form of government.

The ACA is constitutional. You may attempt to repeal it but you will have to repeal a law that is valid and constitutional.

SCOTUS makes bad decisions and has made many of them. He wants to argue this one was a bad decision? Fine. But until SCOTUS reverses itself, it's constitutional.

He consistently held higher approval numbers over Rand "Dred Scott" Paul, yet he lost because the southern state wanted to vote against Obama at all costs.

Sad.

This could get really interesting, in a not very pleasant way.

Here rand paul is challenging the very foundation of our system of government and essential saying, "Just because the Constitutional Authority has decided in a way we don't like ... we are under no obligation to listen to them."

I think there's a term for that ... "punishable by firing squad or hanging by the neck til dead, dead, dead."
