Leonard Cohen is still dead. I still mourn him.

And just because this song comes up on one of my playlists after a Leonard Cohen song:

1. I only started to appreciate his music a few weeks before he died.

The day after the election (which was actually two days after he had passed but it wouldn't be announced to the public for another day), I felt compelled to listen to his music almost non-stop. It somehow really spoke to me and how I felt at the time.

There's a lot of darkness and cynicism in some of his lyrics, but there's also a lot of hope and optimism in other lyrics.

2. He was one of a kind. I didn't fully appreciate him until later, too.

At a Starbucks I used to frequent, they play a lot of Indie and Alternative music and that's where I started to really notice him.

5. I did not know that one but I am downloading it now.

I hesitate to get anymore discographies of an artist because I have so much to listen to as it is. It's the curse of the Digital Age -being able to have anything you want often means having more than you can use.

6. I'm a Leonard Cohen fan who married

a Montreal Jew. I love Colin Meloy too, who's also a writer who sings.

7. I adore Cohen.

He was the greatest song writer of our time. Heard Jeff Buckley sing Hallelujah in the 90's and was hooked...listened to everything he wrote after that.
