Oklahoma hits 100 in the dead of winter - because Global Warming is real!

From ThinkProgress: Oklahoma hits 100 in the dead of winter, because climate change is real:

Oklahoma just endured a spell of exceptionally hot weather. Mangum, Oklahoma saw temperatures close to 100º F, setting a state record. The average February high in Mangum is 56º F.

........//snip

In Oklahoma, the spike in temperature is particularly ironic, given the state’s political climate. Inhofe is Washington’s most vocal climate denier, having published a book alleging that climate change is a hoax while serving as the ranking Republican member of the Senate Environment Committee.

(Remember Inhofe's stunt with a snowball on the Senate floor?)

Inhofe will soon have an ally inside the EPA — Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, President Trump’s pick to head the agency. Inhofe has described Pruitt, a longtime fossil fuel insider, as a “leader and a partner on environmental issues for many years.” Pruitt is expected to bring several former Inhofe staffers with him to his new office.

As Oklahoma’s attorney general, Pruitt has sued the EPA many times, including over the Obama administration’s plan to limit carbon pollution from power plants. The Clean Power Plan is considered one of the most effective tools for curbing U.S. carbon emissions.

Also, plenty of heat in Kansas as well:

Record setting temperatures in Garden City made a Friday in February unseasonably warm. Temperatures at the Garden City Regional Airport reached 86 degrees by 3 p.m., breaking the Feb. 10 record of 79 degrees set in 1999, according to Jeff Johnson, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Dodge City.

Anomalously warm temperatures gave many residents of southwest Kansas an early taste of spring and summer. Temperatures reached 91 degrees in Hugoton, 88 in Cimarron, 87 in Dodge City, 86 in Sublette, 85 in Lakin, 85 in Johnson City, 84 in Ulysses, 81 in Scott City, 81 in Leoti, 79 in Syracuse and 78 in Tribune.

Johnson said Dodge City’s high of 87 degrees, which was registered around 3:30 p.m., marks the second warmest maximum temperature ever reached in Dodge City during February. Dodge City’s previous Feb. 10 record was 80 degrees, which, like Garden City’s previous record, was in 1999.

The National Weather Service has issued red flag warnings for Kansas’ far western counties, meaning weather conditions capable of causing fires are either currently in effect or soon to occur. Red flag warnings are in place for Grant, Stevens, Morton, Stanton, Hamilton, Greeley, Wallace and Sherman counties.

9. weather.com says it is 45 degrees F right now

This sounds more like an error in measurement.

Edited to add: It didn't find Mangum, but instead found "MANGUM GOLF COURSE"

15. Looking at the historical records for that city

It seems to be similar to the weather in North Texas. It might be 90 degrees one day and then the next it's freezing again. They also seem to get a couple hot days every year around this time. Although, it doesn't seem to break 90 too often in February. It did once in 2006, though. The highs seem to stay in the 80's. March seems to be the time when the 90's become more likely. The historical data on that site only goes back to 2005.
