Texas GOP Platform Calls For Repealing Voting Rights Act Of 1965 |

The Republican Party of Texas released its platform this month, calling on Congress to repeal the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965. “We urge that the Voter {sic} Rights Act of 1965 codified and updated in 1973 be repealed and not reauthorized,” the platform reads. Texas is one of nine states with a history of racial discrimination that must get clearance from the Department of Justice before altering its voting laws.

they harm YOU. Do you kick yourself when you've been injured?

That is what you propose and what they want you to do.

Think about it.

In particular, Section One of the amendment deals with citizenship but also mandates that fed law overrides states' rights with regards rights of citizens. Specifically, this has a great impact on voting rights.

So, your satirical response isn't too far off the mark.

Without that, we are lost. This is all about education, journalism, and the right to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

In case somebody is ignorant, two of these are First Amendment freedoms. Don't get me started about religion.

I understand there are sympathizers to their cause but for millions of people to turn a blind eye to this type of "platform" of their party and vote along party lines is amazing and proves that America is a little bit broken.

but as the long days go by I just can't. I'm pretty sure the other run GOP states will soon follow suit. I have seen the latest polls showing Pres O up in some of the key states, including FL so I can see Gov. Scott adopting TX platform.

Election Fraud, it is much more than that...

SEE THAT.

THE PROBLEM IS TYRANNY. Lawyers WILL NOT fix that. History of the World and Democracy says this.

UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT THE TYRANNY THE INEVITABLE IS ONLY DELAYED.

YOU MUST CALL IT WHAT IT IS. THEN YOU CAN FIGHT IT.

IF ALL YOU HAVE ARE LAWYERS TO DEFEND YOUR DEMOCRACY, ITS FINISHED.

SEE THAT. YOU ALREADY SAW IT IN 2000.

TYRANNY.

THEY NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHY THAT IS, WHY THEY ARE NOT PATRIOTS. THE ANSWERS ARE VERY SIMPLE ONES TOO.
