Ryan and McConnell have got to be shitting their pants

The Muslim ban was supposed to be a controversial but non-major issue. The US reputation is in tatters tonight. I don't think they were expecting such a huge outcry. I'm glad at the response, this will FORCE them to take sides. They have to decide if they want to go down with SS Trump or stay afloat

7. Judge Blocks Part of Trumps Immigration Order

WASHINGTON ó A federal judge blocked part of President Trumpís executive order on immigration on Saturday evening, ordering that refugees and others trapped at airports across the United States should not be sent back to their home countries. But the judge stopped short of letting them into the country or issuing a broader ruling on the constitutionality of Mr. Trumpís actions.

Lawyers who sued the government to block the White House order said the decision, which came after an emergency hearing in a New York City courtroom, could affect an estimated 100 to 200 people who were detained upon arrival at American airports in the wake of the order that Mr. Trump signed on Friday afternoon, a week into his presidency.

12. On that note . . .

Only extremist, right wing judges/justices like Clarence Thomas and Scalia will have any chance of nomination, let alone confirmation. Federal Courts are about to look much like they did in the south in the 1920s. Each ideologically tested and proven judge - generally someone younger - will be appointed for his/her life, thus swinging federal courts to the far right for the next 40 or so years.

No need to worry though, Democrat leadership and the "media" are sure to keep us updated on Trump's latest tweets as this occurs.

2. I agree

Trump has caused an uprising they never expected with his fast, sloppy EOs.

6. That's what they're hoping to do

But this has become too big of a lightening rod for them to stay on the sidelines. I bet they are frantically meeting with their advisors right now. They are ambitious men who have to look beyond the Trump years

5. On the political front - Trump can turn his small deep base against them

or any Republican in primaries. They aren't many (10-15%?) of the whole Repub base but they are died in the wool for him. He can flip them on and off like a switch. In low turnout primaries he can oust the establishment. THAT is why they feared him so much.

They're stuck in the middle. Act? How?

13. You are on to something.

Mitch McConnell never had or will ever have a Moral Compass. As for Ryan,he sees the VP job opening and from there the President in 2020. Just following the commands of Koch run Heritage Foundation. Slimy little bugger.

8. You give them far too much credit. Outbursts by

what they see as fringe elements are of no importance to them. They will have no problem taking sides on this, any more than they do on abortion, regulations, the environment, or any other issue.

11. i still can't for the life of me believe these two are going to go down with Trump's ship

They really have nothing to lose by impeaching him, and everything to lose by tying themselves to Trump's legacy, which, one week in, is already one of the worst in US history.

20. Doubt it is that strong of a fear...

but they have to know that eventually this is going to leak over into the reality challenged. If we can hold out and block, I think we can flip the House in '18. Need to build the base in red districts.
