1-in-4 uncommitted now in White House race

They shrug at President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. They're in no hurry to decide which one to support in the White House race. And they'll have a big say in determining who wins the White House.

One-quarter of U.S. voters are persuadable, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll, and both Obama and Romney will spend the next four months trying to convince these fickle, hard-to-reach individuals that only he has what it takes to fix an ailing nation.

It's a delicate task. These voters also hate pandering.

"I don't believe in nothing they say," says Carol Barber of Iceland, Ky., among the 27 percent of the electorate that hasn't determined whom to back or that doesn't have a strong preference about a candidate.

If you are in Gen X, and are poor, the idea that Romney is bad for the country should be simpler than 2+2=4. We Xers were the first to feel the downward slide thanks to the first Bush.

Obama hasn't done much for the job situation in this nation either. Seriously. And Romney is worse, sure. But your equation is off base. It's like saying 2+2=5.

That was going to get a railroad only to be shot down by the GOP, I say that you cannot compare Obama to Bush. Obama was fought EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, and did not have 9-11 to make the Blue Dogs act like they had to give him what he wanted.

But Obama at least is a roadblock for the rich, while Romney will gladly and quickly kill. The idea that there is no difference between R and D was tried in 2000, which disastrous results.
