DAY 2. Keep the Russian election hack on the front page! Click on these links and spread the word!

Thank you so much to all who clicked through yesterday!

If 500 of us clicked, that means we put 10,000 clicks on the news that we want to see, reported as we want to see it (i.e. truthfully.)

If you missed yesterday's post, the idea here is to keep the Russian election hack from drifting off the front page by clicking hard on those articles that are covering it. The more clicks, the more ad revenue for the publications, and the more likely they are to keep putting out articles on the hack.

So here's a new batch of 20! Just click on the links and scroll through them. And again, thank you to all who are participating in this. Spread the word and let's see if we can get 100,000 clicks on the articles we want to see.

If you missed yesterday's list, and would like to click through them too, please do! http://www.democraticunderground.com/10028441547

Please note: you'll see some right wing sources in here. I tried to choose the articles carefully and limit them to those that were simply reporting and reporting the truth. If we can induce them to publish more truthfully on the hack, some of their readers may begin to understand that their government has just been taken over.

9. I sent them to my husband

yesterday hoping he would do it but was doubtful. He just asked me if there was a list today! I sent it and he is clicking them now. I did not think he would do it. Sent to some friends as well, don't know if they did or not.

10. Yay! I don't think we can know what the results of this will be, but I think it's worth a try.

Tell your husband thank you for me!

11. It is as good an idea as I have seen.

I do think it is a good one, I cannot imagine any downside of keeping these stories up for longer periods of time and showing the sites that people care about the story.

It beats refighting the primary every single day.

I will do this every day and if I find another source I will post it in the link. I had pretty much given up most of what I read before, am isolating a bit from the mass production of BS we are being fed.

EDIT to add: He says you are welcome and thanks for the lists.

12. That was another reason I wanted to do this. There is so much out there where they

completely slant the headline in Trump's favor. I want to reward the ones that don't do that. All these headlines that say, "Trump responds to the hacking news by saying X" are such bullshit! The headline is "Russians took over the government."

Looking for the articles today, there is a new think the Twitler people are trying: they're saying that the hack is a plan by the Democrats to delegitimize Trump. And you know millions will actually believe them.

4. I don't do facebook or twitter, but are these "trending"/being reinforced there too?

I guess I am asking if a similar effort is ongoing there...

5. I am sad to say that I don't do Facebook or Twitter either. I will welcome anyone who wants to

put these on those outlets. I'll try and see if anyone has suggestions about how that would be done.

18. spend some time

on each link as those who determine the threshold for what will be counted as a click may factor in Avg. Time on Page and the bounce rate from DU as a referrer, among other things.

22. Do you know about this? Because I have questions.

For example, as you say, time on each is also a measure?

And I am telling people to scroll through the article, but is that necessary for a click to register or is it just the click and, as you point out, time that does it?

What other measures should we be aware that might be at work here?

If you don't know, sorry for the questions, but if anyone else does, please weigh in.

25. general info

these are typical metrics that factor primarily into whether a click was a true visitor or just a quick bounce which may be discarded.

Obviously each host has its own conditions.

27. 2 more questions about this.

I was wondering about the time spent. For us here, we have very very tediously slow Internet. I click on the links and often it takes several minutes before the entire page comes up (if we are lucky). Because of this there is a lot of spin time, I always wait until the link stops spinning and the entire article is loaded then wait a little while then click. So what you mean here is that not only should we really wait for that link to stop but then spend more time like we were reading the article? I just want this to be legit and quite often I do read a lot of not all of the article but I want it to look legit every time. Also about it referring back to DU. If we cut and paste the links to a different page or to maybe email does that remove the link to DU? Thanks, I know nothing about this but do not want to mess this up by doing it in a way that would make them not count.
