Right Wing Bloggers

Whenever I go to a site that discusses Social Security or an article about social programs, I see tons of RW blogs about the bad government. It seems like we are being inundated with GOP talking points. What I saw on one article about social security there was a Rw'inger essentially saying that the unemployed and vulnerable and disabled are the people who are wrecking this country. The disabled and lazy are tanking Social Security.

I wonder if there is any hope.

Stand back and take in the show. Laugh at them, and perhaps pity them as often as possible.

They hate for hates sake, and are overcome with fear. The RW leaders encourage them to attack the weak and defenseless. The weak and defenseless are easy targets, and they distract the RW wurlitzer attack drone blog trolls so that the rich and powerful can continue to suck societies lifeblood without being found out.

The "conservatives" of this country are radicals. They're extremists and deconstructionists who are trying to effect massive changes to the way the nation runs and works. Behind them is a pipeline of money from supporters of this radicalism; every radical movement is going to have a backer.

On the other hand, the, ah, "Progressives" of the country are simply trying to defend the ruins of the New Deal fortress - what amounts to the status quo of most of the 20th century. In a weird reversal, it is the "liberals" who are in fact being tidy and conservative in this nation, while the "conservatives" are frothing radicals. However, "defense of the status quo" rarely wins backers. People take it for granted, and it's really hard to get motivated by scattered fragments of 80 year-old policy.

So they keep attacking, well-funded and well-armed, and all we have to fall back on seems to be trying to convince them not to do that. Doesn't work.

I hope these people get what they want. They certainly deserve it. The question then becomes what about the survival instinct of their overlords? A low tide grounds all ships.

The right wing hate radio machine has done a great job of turning bumper sticker slogans into articles of faith. Once one buys into the game the self righteousness and "indignation" set in and is stoked and fed on a daily basis from thereon out. Once a position is set by the "movers and shakers" the rest fall in line without a second thought...even if it means doing a total 180 on a previous position. The ends justify the means...power at all costs is what's at stake here and the venom flows to keep the great unhinged engaged and enraged.

Today we have a segment of society that has been brainwashed into voting against their own best interests. They find comfort in one talking point or issue and buy on to the whole enchillada. Government is the big boogie man cause its services benefit those with the weakest voices and thus a convenient punching bag. However when the topic turns to the military or corporate welfare, their tune changes...hypocrisy that's overlooked since power is all that matters.

Maybe it'll take the rushpublicans totally destroying the economy once and for all to wake some people up, but I doubt it. We truly have a segment of our voting public that are stuck on stupid...
