I read this about a week ago and the pit that has resided in my stomach since the night of November 8 sank just a bit further. It flew largely under the radar, but now perhaps it will warrant a bit more attention.

Paul Manafort left the Trump campaign back in August, or did he? Sources confirm to The Daily Beast that he’s back advising the president-elect.

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts—Paul Manafort stood in the foyer of the third-floor ballroom of the Charles Hotel, across the street from the Taubman Building of the Harvard Kennedy School, on Wednesday. Having left his mafioso uniform of gleaming pinstripe suit and tie at home in favor of a half-zip sweater and casual slacks, he went mostly unnoticed, even at an event for political operatives and junkies, where a man of his status should be a star. And Harvard, it turns out, is not the only place the ex-chairman of the Donald Trump presidential campaign and former lobbyist for some of the worst dictators and killers of the 20th century is operating in the shadows these days.

Amid a stream of investigative journalism scrutinizing his political work in Ukraine, of particular interest given Trump’s praise of autocratic Russian President Vladimir Putin, Manafort was axed and replaced by a combination of Steve Bannon, the president of Breitbart News, and Kellyanne Conway, a Republican pollster, who served as the campaign CEO and manager, respectively. How far he faded into the margins of Trump’s orbit is unclear.

But now, a few months and an election night victory later, it seems Manafort is back, and in a position he surely finds more comfortable: one shrouded in almost total mystery. “When they’re picking a cabinet, unless he contacts me, I don’t bother him,” one former campaign official who worked closely with Manafort told The Daily Beast. “It’s a heady time for everyone.”

“I think he’s weighing in on everything,” the former official said, “I think he still talks to Trump every day. I mean, Pence? That was all Manafort. Pence is on the phone with Manafort regularly.”

Manafort, who keeps an apartment in Trump Tower, was never compensated for his work, making it more difficult to keep an account of his entanglement with the campaign.

Trump Tower now enjoys Secret Service protection. I wonder if this is helpful or restrictive to Manafort. The whole thing makes me ill.

The Siberian Candidate is alive, evil, and has taken over our US Government.

I can just imagine how President Obama and Hillary feel.. just like we do.. only they're so much closer to it.. and I think rising to the challenge.

It's just a little too cozy, a little too easy, a little too coincidental.

I think Manafort was placed in Trump Tower years ago as a link, a liaison, a lever, to thread and secure the strings on behalf of Vladimir Putin.

Who could possibly be a juicier, easier target for Putin than Donald Trump? In1988 Trump told Mike Wallace on the floor of the GOP convention, if he decided to run for the presidency he would probably win so he obviously had ambitions to the office.

Trump has displayed himself proudly for years. Impulsive, insecure, light on intelligence and heavy on debt, easily manipulated by dangling carrots, tweets, praise, silence, condemnation, cash or women, Trump was perfectly suited to Putin's needs.

between putin and trump... a match made in hell for taking over the US.

There's too much evidence to apply any CT to this at all.

The heinous M$M had a big part in this coup d'état, too.. just like in 2000.

If there is any Justice at all.. I can imagine the heavy shit that's coming down on their heads one day.

the odder and scarier it gets! Manafort was in place early and clearly his "firing" was just for show: he's been a top dog all along, probably Putin's lap dog to keep trump in line.

I certainly hope that President Obama is investigating every aspect of the Russian coup and will reveal all soon. It has to be soon or it will all disappear!

It's hard to believe this is happening in America. Thanks for adding this, Maru Kitteh.
