The Bellevue City Council’s newly elected At-Large member might not see as much of his $12,000 annual City Council salary as he might have expected.

Frank Daley, the executive director of the Nebraska Disclosure and Accountability Commission, did not deny Monday that Pat Shannon’s council paycheck will be garnished until a $16,000 judgment against him is satisfied.

“I can tell you that we are aware of how much City Council members in Bellevue are paid, and we are aware of when they are paid,” he said. “And we are aware that Mr. Shannon will be taking office.”

Asked to state definitively whether the NDAC would garnish Shannon’s paycheck, Daley declined.
