Portage(mine) and Dane counties are hand counting...I think others will to avoid lawsuits. Not sure how Milwaukee could finish by Dec 13, tho...

(2,541 posts)in Wisconsin sent to Gitmo for reeducation and water boarding for those who resist. Please note that tRump has selected Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee county as a possible director for homeland security. If crazy is the defining characteristic requirement for that job, well then Clarke is numero uno.

(17,857 posts)and terrifying if he gets SecHomelandSecurity. That may be the most complex Cabinet position controlling a very large budget. I can't see anything in his background that would indicate his ability to run the organization.

(61 posts)That with the environmental obscenities the Walker regime has been committing in Northern Wisconsin not even just in the Native American-heavy areas (which were predictably Democratic) that they would be so decisively in favor of Donald Trump. It just boggles my mind.
And I know that these areas have been Walker strongholds, but given the deluge of legislation that has been passed at just the local level in just the past couple of years in many of these areas to counteract much of the dickhead's draconian policies, I am just flabbergasted that they would turn out so strongly for Trump. It makes no sense, and I was on the ground up there.
And I get it, I'm not thinking rationally. I'm thinking too anecdotally. But this is the type of stuff that just stinks to me.
Of course, there's always the possibility that these are the populations whose votes Walker succeeded in suppressing via the grotesque policies his gerrymandered legislature passed virtually unimpeded.

(11,088 posts)Machine counting would require reprogramming the machines. That would be far more risky.
It's also part of the reason, given that it is more efficient, why the BOE not requiring a hand recount is a bit suspicious. Considering time is of the essence.
